Yeah, retirement is a rough chore..24/7 and 365 days a year working more than you did when you were employed.

My grandma, who was a nurse, always kept whiskey in her purse, in a dark glass vanilla extract bottle. If she was ever out and about and was near someone coughing, she would have herself a little nip.
I suggest while in the booze isle you bust the seal and have a snort right there. For good measure.

Im demure now so I have way more class than that. I'd rather buy every whiskey nip they have on the shelve and stand outside the liquor store and drink them all to taste test. Of course, I wont block the door. Im polite now too. lol
I knew this old timer who anytime he started feeling like he felt a cold coming on he would do shots of whiskey with black pepper. I never remember the man being ill. Drunk yes but not ever really sick. I honestly believed that whiskey and black pepper help.

I think I am going to go back to buying my booze from a liquor store. If I buy booze in a grocery store I always feel like I need to put healthy stuff in my shopping cart too. Rolling up to the checkout with rice crispy treats and whiskey can’t be a good look. Or maybe I’m just overthinking things. Yeah, probably the latter.

Mouth, nose and eyes { Orifices } are where colds are made.
They say those Flu masks are really of little use.Because you are still
breathing in once they are off and facial hair collects virus material.
But Walking away from someone coughing or sneezing is a must.
Plus wait until home to touch yer nose and eyes.Or merely make yer own
little germ cloth.Mix up in a small bottle one half water { bottled } and one
half vodka.Shake up well and pour on a paper towell and wrap in saran wrap
to keep moist.Keep that in yer pocket. To wipe inside the nose and also hands.

So does smoking. It kills germs.Rush Limbaugh told the story for years.
That once he gave up cigarette smoking he'd get one or two colds a year.
While a smoker he maybe got one cold every 8 years or so.Yes,he went
    from cigarettes to Cigars.

Don’t you take a train? I’m certain it can find it’s way in the dark.

I don't mind night driving on well-lit streets, but a two-lane road out in the country? No way Jose.

Same for her, she sees stuff in the middle of the road that isn’t there.

Oh, and it’s Josue’ not Jose.

When I worked for the airline, I took my lil bro to St Maarten. He drove us to the French side for dinner and on the way home in the dark, we pulled over to a scenic outlook to marvel at the moon over the Caribbean. When we left, he backed up to turn around and the rear wheels went over the edge. We got out and stood there like moron tourists until 2 local guys stopped to help. Lesson learned .. don't drive at night, esp on roads along big cliffs.

St. Maarten’s is the place where the jets land/take off a few feet above the beach. I’ve never been there but hope to go some day.

Funny thing... our plane wouldn't start when we left. Ended up a Delta mechanic was on board (we met him & his wife and partied with them all week), and he volunteered to start the plane. They let him and we flew home w/o incident. Memorable trip for several reasons. ;)
