Well either way, once again trump is more worried about his image than the health and safety of the American people.

The CDC specifies that people like him should be tested. But he is publicly dismissing the obvious sane course of action out of ego. Whats a hell of a message he is sending. Even if you've been exposed and are in a high risk group, IGNORE IT.

Maybe he'll give it to Melania and his current hookers.

Come on, please, let's not sink to this level. This is no time for wishing people ill (there is really never a time for it). This kind of stuff gives all Trump critics a bad name.

I went to doc 3/12/2020. I have "a" virus. They gave me some steroids. I got no further tests nor am I quarantined. Doc did not tell me I was in anyway contagious. Wish me and those near me luck.

In my experience most NRA types are pretty typical people.

This has the potential to wipe out Trump and the 2 democratic front runners. Can you imagine the amount of hands they have shaken over the past month?

My whole family is having a virus and almost all of my coworkers. One coworker went to urgent care and is now getting better.
It’s a mild cold to absolute majority. Nobody goes to doctor over this. The published mortality rate is extremely over exaggerated because it only takes into account lab confirmations, while flu stats include in office diagnosis based on nothing but symptoms.
We are all going to have this virus at some point and absolute majority will recover without ever knowing about it.

I was thinking about that too. All candidates are very old. If the virus hits any one of them they are screwed. Especially Bernie, after his heart attack he can barely walk 100 feet.

Hey good luck. You don't need a doctor to tell you to self isolate. Don't risk spreading this to your loved ones or workmates.

Don't think of this as a personal failing by the person wishing death to someone. It's not even a general failing of the Left.
It simply reflects where America is heading -- the death-wisher is responding to impersonal social forces. He's just being honest.

If you're a serious person, looking to the future, you ought to be thinking about the implications of this sort of thing. America is changing,
rapidly. All the old assumptions are becoming invalid. Our Golden Age is over.

I believe we need to start thinking seriously about a peaceful separation of Red and Blue America. I know there are a ton of real problems involved with this ... but there is ample precedent around the world.

Anyone who would like to read a thoughtful analysis of the 'secession' issue should get this book and read it. Fifteen bucks on Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/American-Secession-Looming-National-Breakup/dp/1641770805/

    From the publisher's blurb:
Americans have never been more divided, and we’re ripe for a breakup. The bitter partisan animosities, the legislative gridlock, the growing acceptance of violence in the name of political virtue―it all invites us to think that we’d be happier were we two different countries. In all the ways that matter, save for the naked force of law, we are already two nations. There’s another reason why secession beckons, says F.H. Buckley: we’re too big. In population and area, the United States is one of the biggest countries in the world, and American Secession provides data showing that smaller countries are happier and less corrupt. They’re less inclined to throw their weight around militarily, and they’re freer too. There are advantages to bigness, certainly, but the costs exceed the benefits. On many counts, bigness is badness.

Across the world, large countries are staring down secession movements. Many have already split apart. Do we imagine that we, almost alone in the world, are immune? We had a civil war to prevent a secession, and we’re tempted to see that terrible precedent as proof against another effort. This book explodes that comforting belief and shows just how easy it would be for a state to exit the Union if that’s what its voters wanted.

But if that isn’t what we really want, Buckley proposes another option, a kind of Secession Lite, that could heal our divisions while allowing us to keep our identity as Americans.

Good luck! I would quarantine myself, if I were you, just in case. (I just got out of the hospital last week, after a week in, with pneumonia. I think the pneumonia bacilli were trying to stake out territory ahead of their Wuhan Virus competitors. But they all died in agony from a good dose of anti-biotics -- serves 'em right.)

I don't know how bad this thing is going to be, but people might want to check out a couple of pieces of technology:

    (1) Air purifiers -- the kind with a very hot ceramic plate that fries spores, bacilli and viruses. (Not ionizers.) I don't know how effective they are though, although in a small room they might be worth having if someone is in bed, ill, and you want to try to keep them from spreading the pathogen. If anyone has better advice, please say.

    (2) Oxygen concentrators -- these are better than bottled oxygen because they separate out the nitrogen from the air and give you a continual supply of oxygen, straight from the air, which is what you need when your lungs are being attacked. (Ask me how I know.) A remarkable technological advance.

Got an air purifier here in my home office. *gob smacks* didn't turn it on yet!!! Doing so now.

I know Trump haters would love the President to quarantine himself, but where is the call for Biden and Sanders to self quarantine?

If the President is tested today, does that mean he won't be exposed later? Anthony Fauci - Head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases just appeared on ABC's Good Morning America. He said the decision to test or quarantine is best made between the President and his physician.

What if all the politicians quarantined themselves .... the whole country might breathe a sigh of relief and demand that it be made permanent.
I can't vouch for the truth of this, but I remember reading, once, that there was a doctor's strike in Israel .... and the death rate went down!

What about a pact: just for once, while this crisis is devleoping, can we leave Mr Trump and Mr Biden and all their friends out of the discussion? Any decision made by anyone is going to have downsides, because we're operating in an environment of minimal reliable knowledge. We're fighting Mother Nature (assuming we're not fighting Mother Nature as helpfully augmented by some clever but careless biowarfare researchers), and she's a smart old b****h and loves all her little children, including viruses, equally. She's not going to discriminate in favor of some hairless primates. It's a question of may the best species win.

Meet the NRA? I don't think this lefty is a member of the NRA. It actually is a lefty kind of response from a lefty.

Good point. Now would be the time for Trump to mend political fences. He should immediately go on a handshake tour of his political opposition, press the hand of Nancy Pelosi and AOC, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama; to show them that there are no hard feelings and that everyone should just try and get along.
