These rocket attacks against our bases have escalated since the Targeted Assassination of Soleimani.

We tried to hit back - claiming Hezbollah was responsible.
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...etaliation-rocket-attack-killed-three-britain

We ended up killing Two Iraqi Police and on civilian in the strike - no members of Hezbollah were killed.

    Iraq is not happy -
    https://www.rt.com/news/483046-iraq-summons-us-sovereignty-strikes/

Is this what winning looks like ? - or is this a losing effort and should we get out of Iraq ?

    Go home
The people do not want you there.
The people are simply standing their ground and attacking a foreign unwelcome oppressive army.
American citizens would be doing the same to a foreign army on their soil.

    Get over it.
    Leave.

That seems to be the case - just more lives and treasure wasted. Let the ME sort itself out - our 20 year effort has been a disaster.

When Americans leave, chaos and murder occur. How many millions died when we left SE Asia in 1975? 2 million? 4 million?

But I agree. Let’s leave. And if they butcher each other, that’s their problem. I don’t give a rat’s ass.

The problem is that the US comes for colonial rule. Massacring around who they don't like. Deliberately creating total anarchy so you lot can say... oh look at them killing themselves.... as if there are no mass shootings around in the US.

Neither Syria or Iraq are worth one more American casualty.

    What a repulsive dis-informed :icon_shithappens: Crock'O :icon_shithappens: that is ! :fart:

And how many were Killed during your failed War in Vietnam ? - Death toll set as high as 3.0 million
And how many Killed after that humiliating American defeat & capitulation by the maniac Pol Pot ?
................................................................................That number is set somewhere between 1 to 2.8 million.

But be aware, the Genocidal Regime headed by the maniac Pol Pot would never have come
.... to power but for the American terror bombing of Cambodia... And then when they did take
... over and begin their Genocidal Rampage.... The maniac was given American sponsorship
............................and diplomatic support for when the Vietnamese moved to stop the Atrocities

The U.S. Is Even More Guilty Than Pol Pot
    [IMG]
    ........................................................
(& YOU don't give a Rats Ass do Yah ?)
    https://msuweb.montclair.edu/~furrg/pol/polpotmontclarion0498.html

    from the Article:
    1.
this mass murderer was supported for fifteen years by the United States.
    2. the U.S. bombing of Cambodia during 1970-75 killed as many or more
    . . Cambodians as Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge ever did;
    3. Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge were not Communists.
    &
"The US not only helped to create conditions that brought Cambodia's Khmer Rouge to power
in 1975, but actively supported the genocidal force, politically and financially.
By January 1980, the US was secretly funding Pol Pot's exiled forces on the Thai border.

If we didn't kill any Hezbollah then we should do it again and plan better.

It probably had nothing to do with Hezbollah - could have been any of a large number of Militias operating in Iraq. The Pentagon has a bad habit of lying so .. who knows.

In any case - If you hit a hornets next with a baseball bat - it is no surprise when you get stung.

The Pentagon then has to make up stories the legitimize the stupidity of the action

Platitudes coupled with denial. 1) this is not SE Asia - and 2) things were a whole lot better in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria until we got involved.

Indeed - We have sacrificed our short and long term economic security for negative return on investment.

We don’t want colonies. We just don’t want countries to host terrorist bases that are used to attack the West.

    Stalin & Mao - HELL ! - [IMG] I don't even like Dick Cheney ! [IMG]

    But I must admit -
Brilliant debating move ! - I'm taken aback ! - How can I possibly Recover from that. [IMG] ?

I give YOU definitive proof, that "The United States of America" in all of its compassionate morality
    ................. ( Admittedly Nonpareil ! - the City set upon the hill ! - and God's gift to all Humanity ! )
Is without doubt, responsible for the vast majority of horrible Deaths & unspeakable Atrocities, visited
upon the people of South East Asia, during and after the events of the Catastrophic War in Vietnam.

Instead of dealing with those uncomfortable Facts, YOU proceed to imply that I must be a fan and covert
..... advocate for two of the most Repugnant & Psychopathic inhuman beings to ever have existed !

It would NOT be so bad, and hurt so much if this sort of response was NOT so common & Typical
.................. of the absolutely Brilliant rebuttals being offered up here by our more astute and literate
.............................................. Xenophobic American Exceptionalist members of the PF community

The only possible response against such a devastating attack must be to Retreat :truce:
....................................................................................... and plan a more careful Rebuttal

    ........................................................... [IMG]
    .
PS - You might want to check the foundations of that - 'City set upon the Hill' - as it seems
    ............................................................................. a lot of sand
    & garbage has accumulated there

No dude - banging your head against a wall - expecting your head will not hurt - is the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again - getting the same result - yet expecting a different one.

And what is the pain ? Have you considered the pain .. we are inflicting on ourselves ?

I didn't say you were banging your head ... Our 20 year engagement in Iraq - Afghanistan - Syria - Libya - Yemen - has been doing the same thing over and over - getting the same result - but expecting a different one = Definition of Insanity.

The hornets nest was one analogy - hitting with a bat and expecting not to get stung.
Banging head against wall - expecting it not to hurt - is another.

My question to you was "have you considered the pain" - we have suffered on account of regime change war policy in the ME ?

The best way to deal with hornets is to kill them. No saving grace and they are liable to hurt your kids.
We will leave when we leave but till we do go ahead and kill those hornets that sting us.

Pathetic attempt to hijack my analogy.

    1) The hornets next is not in your back yard - it is far far away

    2) Your kids are not in danger - risk of harm from a terrorist attack on US soil is 400 times less than the risk of harm from "walking"
It is when you send your kids into harms way - out searching for the hornets nest - that the risk of harm becomes high.

Your are not thinking- and deceiving yourself with propaganda koolaid arguments - reciting them like some religious mantra - without thinking about whether or not the narrative is valid.

You can't seem to deal with the cost benefit argument and keep avoiding this question ... probably because you realize that reality conflicts with your koolaid propaganda narrative fed to you by the Establishment Bureaucrats - Politicians - and the MSM.
