The flu is far more fatal. You better hurry before all the TP is gone.

Yeah.. it's much worse than flu for the elderly. Kids just shrug it off. So the severe measures are to protect the vulnerable at the risky end of the spectrum... the elderly.

Too early to say that. Especially when it looks like early on the death rate exceeds the flu.

Some experts are predicting 150 mil will be infected . In the US.

To keep from getting it requires a huge household inventory of toilet paper. So our shelves are empty here .

Americans are high priority people. China may hold our trade agteement hostage. ...using toilet paper.

And there are no corn cobs available and no sears and roebuck catalogs .

    But neither flush very well.

He will "leave it to the experts" of how many cases of COVAD!

These Trump leaders don't even understand what is job is!

He is should KNOW what this supposed "task force" havd have a range of possibility, at least.

But when the head of the Task Force is saying "thousands" of cases when ALL the authorities say to expect MILLIONS of cases, more likely 10s of millions of cases is just lying.

    As usual.

This virus kills sick old people. Where was all the panic when Swine flu was killing children by the thousands?

Not technically correct. It also kills people with depressed immune systems or underlying medical conditions such as cancer, heart disease, severe asthma, advanced diabetes or cystic fibrosis etc that hamper a persons ability to fight the virus. So yes the majority of those effected will be the frail sick and elderly but the virus is also a threat to younger people with chronic health issues.

Yes to be all inclusive you are correct but that’s a lot to type every time I discuss the at risk group . Easier to say sick old people which is the majority of the minority that are at risk. 99% of us will get a cold.

Obama declared it a public health emergency the same month it started, only 20 people were infected at the time - don't believe all the fake propaganda from the right

"U.S. Declares Public Health Emergency Over Swine Flu"

    https://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/27/world/27flu.html (April 26, 2009)

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/u-s-declares-public-health-emergency-in-wake-of-swine-flu

"WASHINGTON -- The United States has activated an emergency plan to combat swine flu as the Obama administration announced measures Sunday to contain the sometimes deadly virus."

Maybe, but there are a lot of unhealthy/obese individuals in the the US with limited access to health care who suffer from long term debilitating illnesses that might impact their ability to fight off the virus. So while I agree that the the death rate should be about 1% on average you may well find pockets/communities where it is much higher.

So where was all the hysteria then? The media wasn’t drumming it up like they are now and republicans were not politicizing it.

schools were shutdown then too, people worried, we just did not have a president with such a fragile ego and thought everything was about him... Obama cared about the people

Trump made this political, that was his mistake, Trump tried to lie to us and say only 15 cases, going down, be down to zero soon - Trump should have done like Obama and turn to the experts early on - Trump was claiming mission accomplished in the beginning, that never turns out good

they tried to attack Obama, course Obama had only been President since January and this happened in April, and he did not fire the Pandemic response team to save money like Trump did

    https://www.politifact.com/factchec...hele-bachmann-wrong-70s-swine-flu-broke-our-/

course republicans had to deal with their cuts to funding too, that backfired on them

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/re...shortage-after-voting-against-vaccine-funding

"Those involved with proposing the cut have found themselves on the defensive, particularly Sen. Susan Collins (R) of Maine. She negotiated cutting pandemic preparedness funding from the stimulus plan as part of a compromise deal."

I can set you up with cobs. My labor rate isn’t cheap this time of year but we could probably work something out when you get desperate. I could even manage unshelled cobs. Then you could shell the corn, grind it, make corn bread, digest it, well.......you get the idea!

Aren’t the cobs a bit rough on the old delicate parts?

With a nod to Bush Lawyer who first posted this!

Obama did not. Acting HHS Secretary Charles E. Johnson did, and called it "public health emergency". President Obama declared H1N1 a National Emergency in October 2006, six months later. Don't believe all the fake propaganda from the left.

The quality of cob varies as much as quality of TP. A red cob hybrid harvested late in the season below 15% grain moisture would compare to that tan colored TP found in a rest stop or seedy gas station rest room. Conversely, a white cob hybrid harvested early at 24% grain moisture would compare to premium Charmin or Cortonelle Ultra. If you soak the white cob overnight in a mixture of aloe leaf juice, tocopheryl acetate, and citric acid, you end up with a product that performs like a trendy flushable wipe....except it isn’t flushable!

The YouTube was great. Hadn’t seen it yet. :)

    While there are alternatives

Unfortunately the most commonly available leaves in Australia are gum leaves

And they do not do as much wiping as scraping

The one “positive” of this virus is the memes. They all make me laugh. It’s good to see some people are keeping their sense of humor, especially since laughter and positive attitude are so important to our general health and immune system function.

That was the Obama admin, yes, the Obama admin declared it a "public health emergency" in April and in October declared it a National Emergency, Obama let the experts handle it and did not make them praise him every time they spoke like Trump does his task force, Trump has such a fragile ego
