Australian Engineers Just Accidentally Solved a 58-Year-Old Quantum Mystery https://www.sciencealert.com/in-an-...n-engineers-solve-58-year-old-quantum-mystery Wow, controlling the insides of atoms with an electrical field. What will they think of next??? This is a discovery of atomic proportions.
It seems to be more of a news item than a debate item. But as a news item, its fairly exciting! Two potential and likely results of the developement of technology based on this discovery are drastically smaller, cheaper and more detailed sensor equipment, everything from MRIs to electron microscopes to brain scans... this is a step on the path to tricorders from star trek.
If you, or anyone is interested in this topic or the many related topic, one of the sites I monitor is https://phys.org/ . Monitor for a few months and see if you aren’t impressed the the pace with science discovery. Most articles have links to other sites, like MIT, etc. that share current research, findings and critical reviews. There are links to discussion forums that get far more detailed in science related matters. It’s a good feed, and is, at least for me, a better consumer of my time than Television (purposely don’t have one).
