And yet they, and now you, are presuming to know something that plainly, you couldn't. And castigating this as a war crime when frankly you don't have the information necessary to be credible.

Fog of war. It happens. Even well trained soldiers have to deal with the fog.

You say he was in total control... if he was prone to hysterics he would not be a SAS soldier. The guy he shot in the video... the enemy looks exactly like that, they don't wear a uniform that identifies them as enemy. Did he have a weapon?... maybe he was hiding one, was he wearing a suicide vest? Why did they call the dog back? Explosives? And did that even occur to you sitting in your comfy chair watching this play out years later.

In Syria tens of thousands of civilians have been killed by all sides in bombing raids... but you single this SAS soldier out. Since its inception 75 years ago, the UN have probably killed hundreds of thousands of civilians to the point where if you need their protection, you're as good as dead anyway.....

So what is this? This is the woke communist left attacking yet another of Australia's military institutions. These matters should and must be dealt with internally by people who understand the circumstances and will factor that in when making their judgements, not the banana public court of social justice.

We train these soldiers to kill... then turn around and tear them apart for their "sick culture". Killing is what they do... killing is sick when taking into context of civilian life yet this is what we ask them to do to protect us. There are gross ignorance here on what it takes to be and shape a special forces soldier.

If you don't want civilians to get killed in war don't send these soldiers on peacekeeping missions.

Then you're not looking hard enough! The idea that you would disband a superb regiment like the Aussie Sass over one incident is INSANITY! How could you possibly even suggest that?

Let the soldiers who know their AO deal with it how they see fit. The media can F themselves.

I find it hard to believe that a video made by the team wasn't known and viewed by the investigators during the investigation. That said, we don't know what was in the tall wheat/reeds with the man. Also, why did the soldier keep asking his commander if he should drop him.

There are in fact 55 incidents under the spotlight right now. The Regiment has a corrupt culture.

What will you say when the Greeks start shooting the foreigners who are trying to invade Greece?

If they are unarmed people, what do you expect should be said?

The AXIS countries should have simply flooded their people into the Allied countries without firing a shot and they could have taken them over without any fuss.

Silly analogy. Borders can be closed, unarmed invaders sent back, or kept out.

What has this stuff got to do with this Thread?

Do you understand what you are saying? Nobody outside of Australia and maybe Afghanistan is going to care about a possible murder in Afghanistan allegedly committed by an Australian EIGHT YEARS AGO.

and there's your problem right there.

You cannot compare a wartorn country like Afghanistan with Australia, in countries with high crime rates civilians shoot back and without even asking "should I take this >>>> out"

A friend of mine shot someone through a door, twice...(as in two nights in a row) then moved out the next day because the police kept taking his gun for forensics and he ran out of guns. Compare that to the streets of Australia... you'd say it is sick... and you'd be right...at least he's alive

Not too sure “he is alive” is a positive given the penchant for shooting people through doors
