I would say they were good for America as a lone major legacy media outlet with competition in the US alone from ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and tax funded PBS. One reason I supported Trump was I knew this would reverse. That the legacy media would start engaging in its watchdog obligation again. I mean, it has gone overboard. When you hear that the NY Times had to reissue its front page as it was not anti-Trump enough, that seems deranged. But Obama is accused of politically weaponizing our deep state. Nothing comes of it. Biden boasts of getting a prosecutor fired (allegedly to protect his selling of his office to Ukraine, payouts to be made to son Hunter), Trump asks about it and following a media frenzy, Trump gets impeached. He's simply being held to a much higher standard.
