He did not, the OP is a lie.

Great, sounds like the FDA and Trump are on the same page.

Just another example of ShillDar where obvious paid shills try to defend a laughably obvious piece of TDS fake news from a daily "hit list." Same old same old. Fool anyone any more? Seems not.

You will notice the couple were not prescribed it by a doctor.. You will notice the couple took the wrong one...

Please quote Trump telling people to self medicate.

Trump never said anything about a "cure"

Hint.. Stop reading the Guardian they are quickly becoming the worse site out there..

What a shame you are so greatly misinformed ...

    From the WSJ:
So far in France, this medicine has had no effect in either prolonging or saving lives. Deaths have occurred by people using it. But, still, it's a bit too early to tell.

I don't even really blame Trump for this one. Even Trump didn't say that taking the medicine before you even have the virus would be helpful. Unfortunately these two folks made an ill informed regrettably stupid choice.

And while I don't blame Trump for what they chose to do, he shouldn't be up there talking about medicines unless it is in support of an actual doctor who has spoken before him and given us real information.

My guess? Trump is spiraling a bit as he feels the intense pressure that he is legitimately under and he's thinking of his reelection and he's thinking of his ego. And he knows this time that his usual shtick of bemoaning anything negative as a hoax or fake news which led him to downplay COVID-19 for over a month may seriously come back to hurt him. He knows he screwed up.

In the past his bombastic nature would be dismissed and forgotten and ignored. Not this time. Being a birther, saying there was massive voter fraud, using sharpies on weather maps, all of his gaffes and errors and lies were all small time compared to this. This time he downplayed something that's going to end up killing thousands of people and disrupting life for billions. And it's all there on the internet for the rest of human time.

But in his defense he has made a surprisingly good effort since he began taking it seriously, although with a few notable exceptions. For the first time in his entire term, he's being a leader, at times. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, he has a real chance here to be a good leader. The Congressional Democrats are basically setting him up to walk into his 2nd term as the steady and dedicated leader that got us through this, if he chooses to be that person. He'll need good advice and good information and a firm desire not to let his lesser natures get the better of him. I'll give him a 50/50 shot based on what I've seen over the last few weeks.

So your defense is that he doesn't know that people who believe what he says are not bright enough to know the difference.

It doesn't matter what I infer. What matter is what those who still believe him infer.

You see here on this thread people are spreading Trump's lie that this was approve for coronavirus.

In all cases that they tested.

Republicans should stay away from Science. After denying it for years, they should never even try. This may or may not be the drug that ends up working. We won't know until proper testing is completed. And "proper testing" does not mean "a new study in NY".

Now... I'm sure that the fact that you provided no links means that you knew this and decided to not include the reference because it would explain what this means.

Tests of this and many other drugs are being carried out all over the world. We might get lucky... we might not. There is no way of telling at this point. But just throwing out "cures" and "experiments" all over the place, just so you can later say "I said this was the solution" like you do and, more importantly, like Trump does, is simply irresponsible. It can create shortages for patients who need these drugs for what they were designed to do. It can kill people, as it already has!

That is what politicizing a crisis really means!

What I know you didn't know is that the same test has been carried out in many countries: France, Germany, Spain... It's a worldwide "megatrial" And this is not the only one. There are four promising drugs that are part of worldwide megatrials launched by a W.H.O. initiative called "SOLIDARITY". I won't mention the drugs given your (and Republican's) obvious tendency to tout them as "the cure"... for purely political reasons. You could research them. Which may educate you better than me just telling you. These four drugs were the most promising among dozens proposed by scientists all over the world.

If the options are "ignore it" or "have Trump and Republicans promote it", I would opt for the former.

    The rest is you projecting

They HAD to. So more people would consult their doctors. This may create a shortage. They would not have done this if it weren't for Trump's asinine public statements.

This is why people in power should never talk about things they know nothing about. Let professionals give the facts to the public! The Orange Idiot doesn't have the brains to do that.

You replied to nothing i said.. Typical.... In your rush to insult.

I never said it was a cure. It is meant to treat symptoms.. Properly prescribed.. And yes in most cases in the French study the subjects saw benefits of taking it.

So again... The people in the article that YOU posted ( aka OP) self medicated....

    Spot on.

He's a mistake to begin with and still is.

He did NOT win the popular-vote election, because many, many people saw through his shtick. He was elected by a device called the Electoral College that has voted the loser into the White House five times in American history. And we fail to see either the deception or contradiction of the intrinsic meaning of "Republican Democracy" ...

Something about this is not right.

Chloroquine is recommended by the Center for Disease Control for travelers. Nothing mentioned by CDC about dying from taking it, even for children, so I suspect you democrats can add one more lawsuit to the list against lying democrat criminals in Washington.

    I'm so sorry.

I'll dumb it down in two statements: 1- Stop believing and repeating the lies this ignorant/lying President tells. 2- If you insist on believing him, be aware that acting on them could kill you.

It is utterly exhausting watching you flop around today. If I were you, I'd stop. Perhaps you don't think what you've done is embarrassing, but it actually is. The lengths to which you'd throw shade because of (well, to be honest, I can't think of a single reason for anyone to be this demonstrably factually challenged, and willing to induce fear... which says a lot given others posting on these boards...) who knows. I hope for all of the rest of our sake that the illness doesn't find you because I fear what you'd do once you knew it.

The study concluded that despite the small sample size, the treatment with a type of chloroquine (hydroxychloroquine) and an antibiotic showed a “reduction/disappearance” of the virus in several patients.

“After six days, there was a very significant difference between those who were treated versus not-treated," said infectious disease expert Didier Raoult who runs the institute in Marseille where the small trial was carried out. He said 75% of the patients got better with the treatment.

Thank you for using another source that runs counter to what you have already stated.

Do you still stand by your words?

    You got that wrong.

The debate is about whether it is effective against COV-19. For the moment the tests have not been conclusive because of insufficiency of numbers ...

    The testing began last week.

You are jumping the gun - as you most often do in your "rush to the winner-argument".
