Most of the industry groups, most economic research groups, 80% of the population of Australia say it's our most critical issue, yet our current government is moving backwards on climate change. Why would our government ignore the experts, ignore their constituents sometimes to their own demise, eg Abbott et al? Their is an obscene amount of money involved, nothing more, nothing less. Money is power, money can make good people do things that they would never dream of doing. It's old dirty money, a kind of modern feudalism. Now this 10% of society control 90% of our wealth, and that is a big deal. None of them need for a thing, most couldn't spend all their money if they tried yet they will stand arguing with a sales person over 10 cents. Their plan is fan protection, no matter what kind of sh1t hits the fan, they will be protected. They buy insurance (politicians, public servants, interest groups, scientists etc.) They spread lies and propaganda, use sabotage and espionage, you don't think so? Your choice. They rely on the same mentality that made people say that puffing Billy would be the end of the human race. Then it was the "horseless carriage" that would never catch on. Now it's renewable energy. The troglodytes are still here trying desperately to stop time. No fellas I don't want your houses, your money or your ulcers, I want your common sense if there is any left. It's a gamble and as any gambler will tell you, it's not winning, but getting the best return. The worst case scenario one way is we lose some money initially, we invest in a more sustainable future and we clean up the planet. The worse case scenario the other way we all know. The end.
This is what I have been saying for years. https://amp.smh.com.au/business/mar...0191011-p52zo3.html?__twitter_impression=true
