Trump Tells Hannity He Postponed a Call With Chinese President Xi Jinping to Appear on Fox News

    https://www.newsweek.com/trump-tell...-president-xi-jinping-appear-fox-news-1494603

President Donald Trump delayed a planned phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping to conduct an interview with Fox News opinion host Sean Hannity instead on Thursday night.

Trump had planned to discuss the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic with Xi at 9 p.m. but rescheduled to make time for the appearance on Hannity, one of the president's favorite cable news shows. Trump revealed the change in plans when host Hannity began the segment by asking how the call went.

"Mr. President, thank you," said Hannity. "Apparently, I heard you in the press conference, you had a 9:00 P.M. Call with President Xi of China, let me start there. How did that go?"

"Well, because of you, I made it at 10:30," Trump replied. "So, that just shows you the power ... that just shows when you have the number one rated show in television, I better change things around. No, I am talking to him at 10:30 right after this call I'll be talking to him."
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this telephone interview, Trump criticized Governor Jay Inslee of Washington State, he criticized Governor Cuomo of New York and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Regarding Governor Jay Inslee, Trump said ..."He should be doing more, he shouldn't be relying on the federal government. Governor Inslee, that's the state of Washington. He uh, was a failed presidential candidate and you know....he's always complaining."

It's incredible that he's lashing out and criticizing governors during this crisis. Trump is a dismal failure at leading a country though this horrendous crisis.

Yes. Everyone KNOWS That Trump is a Complete Disgrace.

And, the criticism of the Governors was completely unwarranted.

In Trump's Feeble IDIOTIC Mind, Hannity is more important than the leader of China?

It really is hard to believe that MORON is actually President.

No doubt Xi is at the phone 15 minutes late, making Trump wait at the other end. Diplomats have their ways with tit for tat.

But he did that early in the day with a press briefing.

If he really did push back a call with XI to go on Hannity, that’s a huge and pointless diplomatic snub.
    Disgraceful.

Lock him up. It should be illegal for a president to modify his schedule.

Trump is negligent in leading this country by not signing a directive putting the federal government in the lead instead of insisting that these governors do it all on their own.

Trump should have put the Defense Production Act into practice instead of leaving private companies to volunteer their production lines and states to compete for contracts of masks, ventilators, gowns and other essential supplies to treat patients suffering from COVID-19. This is unacceptable and Trump is negligent by not doing so. Trump is a television personality, a populist, he wants you to love him, as any malignant narcissist needs. He is not a leader, he's a mob boss, nothing more.

    So....THAT'S what

Sign a directive? He isn’t, his giving them what they need and working with the them. Every state situation is different and unique.

why? Why use force when private companies are already working with him and doing it?

Why don't you pay more attention the words of Trump, of course they aren't the words you wanted to hear. He clearly said that the governors must do more on their own. HE is the federal government and only HE can put the Defense Production Act into play.

Ok...they must do more on their own. They can’t be 100 percent depended on the federal government for the unique needs in their state. The federal government has 49 other states to deal with as well

You're wrong. The federal government has the power to force companies to comply with supplying urgent medical needs. A governor doesn't have that authority, the president does.

Sure the Fed does, but there are a lot of other things need to combat this then just supplies. With that said the federal govt is working with private companies and they are in fact creating them. From google to Ford...it’s a wonderful thing

Hard to figure out where to start with your post but understand the all caps adds nothing.
Screw Chinese President Xi Jinping. He gave the world this "gift" in the first place.

Private companies are volunteering to help and private individuals free from government red tape are coming up with new solutions daily.
It is the people that spend their day complaining who are of no help.

1 He already took the opportunity to address the American people in the WH press briefing. He had the opportunity to get his message out already.
2 Hannity’s audience is not “the American people “. It is a tiny, pro-Trump subset.
3 Saying that it is more important to talk to his base than to China IS a huge diplomatic snub - if it’s true.

Knowing what we do about Trump I suspect it’s much more likely that XI postponed the call and Trump was trying to make himself look good by saying he did it.

Weird that recent polling from multiple polling venues disagree with your assessment of Trump in regards to his leadership. Most people think that he is doing a good to great job. This, mind you, despite the leftist-loyal MSM -- essentially working for the DNC -- HOWLING that he is EVIL and incompetent. Facts and clear-minded observations beating out leftist driven political propaganda efforts. Go figure.

Pssst . . . John Hopkins recently reported that Trump is doing an excellent job. So the actual experts disagree with your assessment.

The problem is that we are BEHIND now. The Defense Production Act would have put us in FRONT of the problem, and most likely help control the spread of the virus. The same can be said for the delayed response to many of the issues related to Covid from the Trump administration. Telling the America People that "its going to miraculously go away" is not leadership and does not help instill a sense of urgency in the response from the american people, not just from government

So him saying "they must do more on their own" is EXACTLY what I siad. He is telling them they are on their own for most of it

The press briefing is more about the conrona virus team then the president’s message
    Of Americans...
Delaying a call isn’t a snub at all.

stop with your desperate dramatics. The American people are far more important at this point then anything else
