    Here is a guy on his way out of politics. Fortunately for all of us. We need to bring back tar and feathering, starting with this idiot;

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump and several House members blamed a Kentucky Republican for forcing hundreds of lawmakers to travel to Washington to vote on the $2 trillion rescue plan as most of the country stays home to avoid spreading the coronavirus.

“Heading to Washington to vote on pandemic legislation,” New York Republican Peter King wrote on Twitter. “Because of one member of Congress refusing to allow emergency action entire Congress must be called back to vote in House. Risk of infection and risk of legislation being delayed. Disgraceful. Irresponsible.”

Republicans do not want to be able to vote remotely as the eventual changes from it would ripple across the party.
First it would end the argument that the House cannot be expanded due to the size of the chamber
Second it makes legislators much less easy to access for lobbyists

Remote voting and work when possible is the future though — it will happen eventually

    Thomas Massie? Huh.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/03/27/trump-congressman-thomas-massie-coronavirus-vote-151523

He seems to be in a "safe" seat.

His last 4 totals (in Vote pct.) have been 62/67/71/62.

Trump in 2016, won his district 65-29.

If Trump really doesn't like it, he can support a Primary Challenger.

Somebody's gotta get that thread title changed ASAP as this is an important thread.

All I can say is that this is truly a DICK move... And I guarantee you I would say the same if it was a woman and/or had a D next to their name.

Passed the Senate 96-0.... It's the best bill it can be in this short a time frame...

Breaking news - Not 100% sure what happened, but MSNBC reporting House Passes Bill.

Seems Massie didn't get a second on his motion?? Or something like that... still unclear.

    Stay tuned.

Still, it seems he tried to get butts in seats today, so his actions cannot be ignored regardless of the outcome...

    His tactic FAILED (miserably).

The bill was passed by voice vote.

Leave it to the GOP to try to stall legislation to help Americans.:smh:

Massie is a Disgrace to Congress.
(And his presence in the GOP House Delegation reflects poorly on the Republican Party).

Leave it to the GOP to have a House Member who wants to hurt hard-working Americans.

    Massie? :smh:

    Yeah.

He called for a quorum and was embarrassingly shut out.

    What a MORON.

Leave it to the GOP to allow such a DISGRACE to be in their caucus.:smh:

Attention whores simply can't help themselves. If this action were successful in killing the bill I would praise him. Since it will not be he is a moron as mentioned above.

There is a big difference between delaying the vote on Constitutional grounds and delaying it because I want more of my stuff in the bill, like Pelosi. She impeached Trump for delaying aid to Ukraine, they she delays aid to the USA.

Truckers are trucking, police are policing, doctors are doctoring, nurses are nursing, grocery store workers are stocking shelves as best they can and ringing up. US representatives should have been there voting and doing their job, too, unless they are non-essentials.

If this person gets re-elected that is a direct failure of the American people to do their duty as citizens. Now is not the time to play games in Congress. The American people in our time of crisis do not have time for this sort of crap. Shame on this man, he shouldn't be voted to any public office ever again once his term is up.

Remember his name come election time and get rid of him.

So you don't care about the Constitution? Are you OK with Pelosi's game playing?

What we need to restart the economy is home testing kits. You don't have the virus, go to work.

Pelosi is the worst of all, she championed holding the American people hostage with her partisan garbage she included in the bill and then blamed the Republicans for not passing it. As I said before in the other thread, ANY Representative or Senator who tried to include and/or supported ANYTHING AT ALL in this bill not directly attributed to helping Americans during this crisis needs to be shamed publicly and voted out on their ass.

Go back to arguing over airplane emissions and art school grants and other nonsense AFTER Americans have the cash in their hands. The government directly PROHIBITED millions of Americans from going to work with the stroke of a pen then left them to sit there without a paycheck while Congress played partisan games for over a week with their livelihood. Any member of Congress who tried to use this crisis as a way to push through an ideological agenda in this stimulus bill needs the boot and I don't care whether I agree with the ideology or not.

There are times where ideology matters and there are times when it does not, this is a time when it does not. The ONLY ideology that matters right now is getting money in the hands of the American people that our government specifically told CANNOT go to work. The government prohibited them from earning a paycheck to feed their families so it's up to the government to take care of them then, and do so in a timely manner and not use this crisis as a way to force the "other side" to "hold their noses and do what I want" at the expense of the suffering American public.

    Shame on these people.
