No, that's not what I said. What I said is that we can't limit our testing to people showing symptoms. Plenty of people carry the disease without yet (or sometimes ever) showing symptoms. Limiting our testing to only those showing symptoms would be a problem, and that's what I was pointing out, and Quantum clarified that's not what he's talking about.

Again: I want more testing, not less. I hope the US is soon able to administer that level of testing.

This virus crisis hoax has been a windfall for out of work actors, and there are plenty in New York. Even the bad ones. It is like a zombie movie run day and night. Pay them a couple hundred dollars each, send them through makeup and pretend they are dying patients or caring doctors. Keep the cameras rolling so as to fool the world, of people becoming ill and dying. It is so weird how so many are falling for it. All in an effort the bring down the greatest president we have ever had and turn the USA into a socialist country.

Please stop spreading dangerous conspiracy nuttery and start listening to what every objective fact and what every health expert has to say about this. The Trump cult was cute. The Trump death cult is not. Ignoring reality because it might offend the Dear Leader is one thing; doing so in a way that puts the lives of others at risk is another. Even idiot Trump is starting to take this seriously now. I'll say this for the first time: follow his example, no matter how much of an ignorant conman that he may usually be. Now is the time to listen to facts, not Trumpist feeeelz. If this offends you, so be it. Facts don't change just because they offend.

I was joking. Mocking those who have been calling this a hoax. It would be absurd to think that the sick and dying are just actors in part of an elaborate hoax. Did you not read the post I was replying to?

I went to the grocery store yesterday. There where lines painted on the floor giving people six foot boxes to be in, to force social distancing. I heard a guy going on about how this “hoax” was driving him crazy.

My Sis sent me some facebook thingy from this Australian guy showing a five min clip of some of the stuff actually going on in CHiner.. He was calling them liars among other things while proving his point by showing dead people covered up on the sidewalks, these mist truck driving the streets fogging entire cities while dozens of people in bio suits walking 5 abreast fogging areas the trucks cant go.. You know your hosed when the Gubment is welding bars on apt building so people can't get out ..

The point of his little five min clip was to show how Chiner simply isn't being up front on this, none of it, and he doesn't believe the infection claims or survival numbers they are telling the world..

So I'd not be counting on returning to normal for quite a while in this country!

They should just keep the lousy 1200 and put it toward research and a vaccine! Dead people don't have any use for money ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

Chiners is lying out their ass's.. You can not hide from virus! Granted you can prolong being infected but eventually everyone is going to contract it, unless a vaccine is developed and even then some will still die from it..

That's on me. I always had a problem with Poe's Law. I see people seriously making arguments like this and it makes it harder for me to identify and acknowledge parodies of the same.

That's the problem! And the same scenario goes for contracting the virus! You can stay indoors for a month, a year or whatever and no one know if someone can be a carrier and never show symptoms! And the way the world travel is the globe is a threat!

A bit off topic, and a little odd! But I and my closest neighbor experienced the worst flu "WE" both believed to ever had in mid December. He and I both "Talking yesterday" were sick, with high fever and all the matching symptom associated with this flu for about seven days! We both were like totally rung out, sluggish, weak and just off for better then three weeks in total, pretty weird and identical symptoms and same exact time frame!!

I recall at the peak of it "Start" there were two days "High Fever" that I hardly even remember, and again he experienced the same symptoms! Sooo, I'm actually curious to see if that was this and I have taken no precaution so far.. I'm rolling the dice and honestly believe him and I contracted it survived it and are now immune or at most less effected by it!

Should people get tested once a week to see if they might have measles? Or should people with symptoms of measles go to their doctor to be checked?

If money were no issue, and if testing supplies were no issue, and if people simply wished to know if they have been infected even if they don't need care, then perhaps test everyone.

If people believe they have been in contact with others who are infected, or if people live/work in a hot-spot area, and there is no issue with testing supplies and labor, then go for a test.

Since people with the virus antibodies can help others, whether they were asymptomatic or symptomatic, they need the test to be identified.

I agree everyone should get tested but not until there is a surplus of tests and labor...

Anyone who shows symptoms should contact their health care person who will determine testing. The guidelines for testing seem to change almost daily so who knows? Some now believe people who thought they had common flu back in November/December might have actually had coronavirus? As long as infectious people can co-mingle with others hard to know how long or critical things can get?

I have no symptoms, have not been tested, and I'm well into my 70's, so I'm avoiding everyone until it's either over or I know that I carry the antibodies. The way things are today, I won't be tested until far down the road when/if the dust settles...

Or go back on a plane, or a cruise ship, or to a restaurant, or a gym, or a sporting event, or a festival. The fear of non-essential activities is going to increase dramatically, and it will likely last years. Human behaviour will be altered in ways we can't even imagine today.

That would be a huge mistake. The huge proportion who are irresponsible will blow it in an instant. Never give irresponsible people money.

It must be an Asian thing. Korea, Taiwan and Japan are doing pretty good too.
And yep. Getting to the vaccine is the goal.

Right! The entire point of the checks is to get people to spend.
