One of the solution is seeing loneliness as an opportunity.

Loneliness is an opportunity to develop yourself, boredome is an opportunity to develop new hobbies.

It's a moment to choose : Will I being subjected to what's happening or will I use that as a way to make new things ?

Give a naked field to some people, they would die of starvation, give a naked field to some people, they will make it a wonderfull garden.

There is a quote, I don't remember the author : If loneliness is painfull, then you're in bad company. So let's become a good company to ourselves.

I'm a solitude person anyway so nothing has changed for me. But for those who aren't this is a good opportunity to try some new things and see if something may interest you. Perhaps try to learn a new language online, there are plenty of decent free online language instruction courses one could take in order to see if that's something you may be interested it.

Learn how to cook if you don't know how or try out some new recipes. The internet is the worlds largest cookbook.

Read a book if that's your sort of thing.

And don't forget that just because you can't physically be in contact with other folks doesn't mean you have to be alone. This is a generation of kids who spend the majority of their days locked in their rooms yet they are never "alone". Technology has made it to where people can be more social than we were as kids by not actually even leaving their house. Call friends and family, use social media to connect with them if that's your thing.

And remember that there is nothing wrong with being lonely or anxious during a time like this. Human beings are social creatures by nature, most people need human contact on a routine basis to keep their brains in order. If you're lonely then your neighbors are probably lonely too and may love to hear from you. Give them a call or write them a letter or something.

My main problem is that I lack computer skills. Many people are using Discord.

    PoliticalForum helps me a lot!

    I wish.

I was so enjoying being an empty nester. Now I've got two quarantinelings trashing the house and eating up all the food like locusts, and I still have to go to work and be annoyed by a hospital full of potentially-and-confirmedly plague patients.

I'm praying for some alone-time loneliness at this point.

Good news is that computers have become so mainstream now that they are far more user friendly for the average joe than they were a few decades ago. Most stuff on computers requires no more skills than navigating this forum. You could get started with most stuff but may not be able to get deep into all of the features of these different sites and social media platforms. I'm a computer guy, I've been building computers for over 25 years. But even I'll admit that I was sitting at work the other day with some of my young co-workers giggling at me as they tried to show me how to mess with the more in depth features of Facebook on my phone lol. And even to this day I still don't understand the hashtag thing or how Twitter works. I'm sure I could figure this stuff out if I sat down with it for a few minutes I just never really had a desire to do so.

But the internet and social media and all that stuff is designed to be accessible to the lowest common denominator so I'm sure we would figure this stuff out if we wanted to.

It's kind of a family joke that I am unable to feel loneliness. Or boredom. Perversely, it's a result of a childhood shock.

But I've been watching a lot of movies and studying the fretboard of my guitar.

There is so much to read and think about. And much self improvement we can all engage in.

Ouch! They are 29 times as dangerous as cars. I would advice you to reconsider.

The problem is when loneliness is too long in time.

Life is 29 times as fun when you ride motorcycles than it is when you don't.

    You should try it.

There are people who would consider solitary confinement in a prison to be punishment, and others who would consider it a privilege.

I know who I am. But only if I were given access to decent reading material. Jails have a lot of old beaten up Readers Digests and cheap paperbacks. That versus general population? Yeah, solitary for me.

Computer games. Tinkering. Shooting. Arguing with mfers on the internet. Alcohol.

Tho, tbh, I actually prefer these to doing anything social.

As an essential I deal with co-workers and customers all day. I am perfectly fine with being alone at home. Home alone!

If one's mind wanders at all, one should stay off bikes. The problem is not the bike -- it's other drivers, many of whom are drunk, senile, on their phone, or on drugs. Plus. some people just run stop signs because they are human and make mistakes.

    Off road bikes are good.

And what kind of stuff do you carry around? I have to know. And it's my right to know.

    YES IT IS!!!

I need a complete and detailed descriptive list.

I'm still working. The only thing that has changed is that my kids are home to disturb me. At least my wife can't go shopping.

Bag of rolling tobacco and papers
    Large coffee mug
    Bottle of water
    Laptop
    Jacket

I also carry around a lot of tools. I guess I wouldn't need so many on a motorcycle...

The biggest problem is I think it would be hard to roll and light a cigarette while riding a motorcycle.

I also absolutely detest getting rained on.
