I was helping my family clean my grandmother's house out this weekend and there was an old box from Belk in there. It was at least 65 years old. It was round and had a small rope for a handle. After all those years of sitting there, it was still pristine and the rope was still strong. It's amazing how well things were made back when we didn't depend on cheap sweat shops.

South Korea tested the population on a massive scale. 10.000's of people got tested everyday. And with that, they were able to see how had it, who not, and so who had to stay in. That's how they curved around the lock down. The US doesn't do that strategy.

The death rate vary according to the medical equipement. I don't remember the percent of people that need respiration assitance, if I'm not wrong it's around 20 %.
So, apparently, the death rate without medical equipement could be much higher than 2 to 5 percent.

In France, death that happened into retirement houses were not counted, having the real death rate is somehow complicate.

It's too late to avoid lockdown. A lockdown could have maybe avoided if there were a massive campaign of testing everybody, it seems to have been a very important elelement, which would have required to prepare the logistic of such campaign, because the test aren't created magically of thin air. Apparently, germany has less difficulties facing the coronavirus crisis, they shake hands and don't have the face mask culture, but they're apparently the european country which tested the most it's own inhabitant.
It's not only the "bow down", "face mask" culture, it's also that the authorities of east asia have reacted in a quickier manner.

A wide variety of different kind of government have failed considering this issue, either conservative or progressive. I really don't appreciate the left, without feeling part of the right, but I suppose that this issue go beyond the left/right divide.

 

I only recall that Donald was such an idiot to rip families apart, with no clue where the children went from whose parents. It's a freaking disaster and a violation of the rights of children. I guess you don't realize that ol Dirty Donald did exactly what Obama did concerning child separation. In America, when a parent commits a crime, their kids don't get to join them in their prison cell.....just as in every country on the planet as far as I know.

It's a pity that the facts, including DNA analysis of the virus itself, do not support the claim that it all started in virus.

 

We will never get all our mfg system back and when this emergency subsides China will still have most of our pharmaceutical business. Money is always going to talk. I wish I didn't believe this but nothing in the politics of this virus mess gives me confidence that there even is a truth anymore.
