Actually, he called Xi Jan 24 to offer help in hopes that we could find out something to act on before it got here.

We found out what actions the Dems would have taken by the crap they put or tried to put in the recovery bill and what they blocked. They absolutely had to fund Planned Parenthood since the think killing black babies is the solution to everything. They needed the Green New Deal so that medical equipment could be carried cross country on bicycles. The Kennedy Center and NPR were other priorities. Nothing like a good party, so they brought thousands of sick Europeans through NYC to New Orleans to Mardi Gras. Now they wonder why NYC and New Orleans are hot spots along with states that neighbor Louisiana. Since the disease came here through our borders, they blocked funding for border security. Then, they couldn't help but fire a shot at Trump by denying him assistance given to Democrat hotel owners. He didn't blink, but I hope before he leaves he brow beats Pelosi to pay back the money she stole from Americans by delaying swipe fee legislation while holding shares in the VISA IPO.

No he did no such thing. He banned travel from China to a subset of the people going between the two countries. It was a weak response but better than none.

 

He limited Chinese nationals.

Sadly, the heavy travel of Chinese Nationals was going to the holidays in China.

The heavy travel has been Western businessmen traveling between China and USA and others countries.

Sadly COVID-19 is happy to infect and carry the virus to us.

Trump's focus was more of a racial reaction, not a meaningful attemt to protect the USA, unless he had simultaneously do the travel and interaction restrictions for everyone in the USA that are just starting that we do now.

Did that Chineserestructions reduce transmission? Some, probably. But nothing could stop it nor reduce it substantially. So far, racial considerations seem to make no difference.

 

We were not gonna Americans from coming home. The ban was not racist and suggesting so at this point is utter clueless. We did the same thing to Europe and Canada. The ban slowed the spread.
