Many of us would like to know

With this virus thing going on, many mayors and state b'crats have demanded that non essential business need to be shut down. Many have been, and the employees pay check stopped.

My question is how many federal employees that are not essential are out of a job and not being paid?? BTW probably 75% of them are non essential.

 

Well, we could lay off the IRS and Treasury, so that no tax refund checks go out and no stimulus checks are mailed.
We really don't need any FBI or CIA agents.
We could lay off the entire military - don't need them.
All the TSA and Air Control people could go home.
We could lay off all the food inspectors, cause if you're going to die by Covid, you might as well go by food poisoning first.
The CDC people could go home.
Don't need anyone at the Justice Dept. because heaven knows nobody is going to break the law with the virus out there.

Shall I go on?

 

Probably a shorter list @logical1 lists off the departments that are non-essential.

 

You really need to study up on government. You would quickly learn what members of government are essential.

Let me give you an example of a non essential whole branch of government, the Dept of Education. No over paid under worked member of that agency can help little Susie in the school a quarter of mile from my home when she has a math problem. Only the teacher in the class room can help her. The further away from the class room you are, the less needed you are. Those in Washington are absolutely worthless, and are among those that should NOT be paid during this virus thing.

As an aside, all members of Congress should not be paid either

If you had just said that we should lay off non-essential Federal Employees, I would have agreed with you. But when start pulling random numbers like 75% out of your back-side, I'll call you on it.

How about you ask teachers if the department of education is essential as they provide remote schooling and other resources to America’s children so they don’t fall behind during the next two to three months.

You are not essential. The government should stop sending you your monthly SS check.

However, in addition of still getting paid, you'll also receive a $1,200 check of Trump socialism, which really should be for people who lose their jobs, not to pad SS recipients' income. What say you?

 

We should lay-off the pol’s and maintain the “deep state” staff. I’m certain they’re more competent than the figure head political appointees currently heading departments

Anyone currently holding an official that hasn’t been confirmed by the Senate should just go home today.

 

Many federal,state,municipal and local government employees don't show up for work half the time in a normal circumstance, so God only knows how many are showing up during this crisis. BUT they all still get paid ????

I didn't vote for Pelosi, Schumer and I don't watch CNN or MSNBC. Why should that be something I need to do? I'm not a Democrat and I haven't watched cable TV in years.

 

According to Google he Dept of Ed has 4400 employees and and budget of 68 BILLION DOLLARS.

 

I say all the left wingers that get a virus check that said Trump is not their President should tear them up.

 

He, and others like him, believe that anyone who disagrees with anything he/they believes automatically means you must be a Dem/Lib who watches CNN and/or MSNBC.
I also don't watch either of those channels nor do I watch FOX. I have also never voted for a Dem in my entire voting life yet because I disagree with people like "Logical" on certain things I am somehow a Dem/Lib. It's quite comical.

 

And of that $68 billion, 7.2% go to operations and salaries - the rest goes to matching grants and loans to build schools, pay teachers, finance university labs, and babysit your kids
