I'm going to latch on to a thread started by @61falcon I'm starting a new one only because I remember listening to this live in 2005, and it became relevant now. @61falcon makes the excellent point that "...it's our nation's lowest paid workers who are carrying the nations load".... "It is our store shelf stocker's and grocery and drug store cashiers, gas station attendants, hospital staffs, garbage and trash workers, postal service and many other low paid professions who are now carrying our nation on their backs." http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ying-the-nations-load.570455/#post-1071558942 That reminded me of a question posed almost 15 years ago by right wing libertarian talk show host Neal Boortz. He was Sean Hannity's mentor in the "wingnut talk" business. On his show on October 14, 2005 Boortz asks "If we are faced with a disaster in this country, which people should we save first: the rich, or the poor?" "We should save the rich people first!", he declares. “You know, they're the ones that are responsible for this prosperity.” He then describes poor people as "a drag on society" and adds that they "“don't achieve squat. They sit around all the time waiting for somebody else to take care of them. They have children they can't afford. They're uneducated. They can barely read.” I found a recording of the segment here. https://www.mediamatters.org/neal-b...nal-disaster-we-should-save-rich-people-first Now that we are faced with a national disaster, in which medical equipment is scarce. Hospital beds, ventilators, ... etc. There is a chance that we will have to "pick and choose" who to save. Do libertarians still think that it should be the rich first?
Wow...especially in a time like this....the American people really are getting sick of the left always playing divisive politics. Truly sad and gross
The rich obviously......who the hell else is going to employ the surviving poor masses? But if the some rich must die, I suggest Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Mark Zuckerberg.....oh damn this will take all day but needless to say the Dems must pay their fair share of death.
If anyone is carrying the nation on their back, it is the medical profession and those developing cures and vaccines.
Why are you asking a question about a post you didn't read? Your responses are getting weirder and weirder.
What paper are you having trouble getting your crap published in, or are your professors giving you Cs and a consolation pat on the head?
I think lives should be saved on a first come first served basis. That system works well for about everything else.
This is a very childish thread. In reality, doctors will be picking and choosing based on patients odds of survival. What you are doing here is trying to spread division.
