You mean like all those law bending and breaking thugs that Barack Obama surrounded himself with? Perhaps it's simply the nature of the office.

Mommas . . . don't let your babies grow up to be Democrats. Let them grow up to be . . . .

All presidents make final decisions based on input from advisers. The trick is to determine which advice to take. I don't think dementia helps that.

trump wants ass kissers. Real presidents want smart, educated, knowledgeable and honest advisers. (big difference)

I don't know how anyone can do reasonable basic research on the family political money machine that Joe has kept going and take that position. The situation reeks of dishonesty- and not accidentally.
And if you actually looked at where Trump has taken us, it's vastly better than we would have been with anyone else.
All politicians live in a world where you manipulate and take advantage and sell influence; it's been that way for decades. Along comes Trump, totally an outsider to the secret society of entrenched politicians- so it's no wonder they hate his guts and feel they must destroy him. He's the winds of change, and it's not blowing the right way for the good'ol boys of congress, or the embedded bureaucrats.

I see you say "Joe", then you say "trump". Shows the core disrespect you have; and the lack of perception. "Joe", despite being a life-long politician, can't even remember the first line of the Declaration of Independence, perhaps the most important document this nation has. How the hell is he going to remember who is the "honest" advisor, or what they said yesterday? Joe only does well on camera when he keeps his mouth shut.

It's sad that this is the best the dems can come up with, but they have created their own tar-pit here, and nobody worth a damn wants to wade in it. The best of the democrats are becoming independents or republicans- because their party has left them and the values they believe in; become something they no longer recognize.

Yep. Bernie is way too old. Bernie's mind could be a bit better than Joe's but his health is more suspect. It is time to stop running people on the end of the bell curve for age of the American people. 90% of the population is younger than Bernie.

I totally agree. That is why I have always supported age limits.

He's just been watching the edited twisted fabrications that the lamestream media has been presenting to him about it, thus believing what they want him to believe. He has no desire to tune into the task force itself.

l doubt seriously that I am in a minority in this case. The comment was pure partisanship with no evidence whatsoever. Only those with deep partisanship would accept this as true. So I assume you are deep into partisanship.

Don't put all old people into the same category. I don't know what percentage of old people have dementia but it certainly isn't all of them. I'm 75 years old and I have brief memory lapses but I can assure you I can think and process information just fine. I will leave choosing presidents up to voters rather than rules and limits.

Sure I don't doubt there are some people that would be an exception to the rule. I am sure you can find competent pilots and drivers beyond the age of mandatory retirement but these rules and limits are created to protect the masses. Just as we have cutoffs for blood alcohol levels to determine when someone can safely drive I am sure there are people that can drive better above the limit than many sober. The problem is it is difficult to look at exceptions and the information to do so is often not readily available so we create rules and cutoffs. Political office is a profession that impacts more people than any other profession I can think of. By definition they are representatives of the people. I just think that a cutoff age of 65 would not be unreasonable for all elected officials. If someone above that age still wants to serve the public there are many other jobs within the public system that they can still apply their skills to if they want to serve.

Sure. A great overview statement that I support in general but in the real world we need to work and deal with the reality of real life situations. "Less Government, More Freedom" is a great slogan but if we went and applied without due thought and planning it will lead to societal chaos.

It isn't a slogan. It is a desire on my part. I believe the government is as incompetent and corrupt as it is because of its size and cost.

Again these are simple views in a very complex world. Lets take our earlier example of blood alcohol levels for drunk driving. Lets say we remove that because as I noted before, it could be argued that people that failed the blood alcohol level could still drive better than someone slobber. Let continue and remove all motor vehicle regulations. Eliminate the DMV which is a huge part of government. Why have speed limits when everyone is different. Surely someone in their 20s with great reflexes driving a $250,000 state of the art sports car should not be limited to the same speed limits as someone 75 years old with poor eye sight, hearing and reflexes driving a $500 clunker held together with duct tape. So we let everyone who wants to drive go on the roads, drive however they want at whatever speeds they want. We eliminate traffic officers and enforcement, the bureaucracy heavy DMV and let people drive however they feel comfortable. Definitely falls under your less government more freedom argument. I am sure there would be some people that would be happy with this form of less government control. Are those that are against it supporters of big government?

Sorry I did it again. I forgot to put the adjective federal in front of government. But I agree that the views are simple. Easy to understand.
