Unemployment is up, way up. This is due, above all, to lack of preparedness that the capitalist system engenders. When everything is for profit human beings are relegated to the gutter.

The orange clown in the White House has demonstrated once again how this "stable genius" goes to work to destroy everything he touches. He made great deals for himself, his hotels, and his family. The average Joe & Jane in the street, however, will live like animals in shantytown like in the Great Depression. Class War Ahead!

I too want to thank the President. While this is certainly tough, he made the hard decision to basically shut down the economy in order to try and save lives and prevent the spread of the Chinese Virus. That's bold leadership.

Yet another follower of the Left proves to have zero meaningful comprehension of either capitalism or economics.

    Exactly.

    1) Trump's Bull Market has disintegrated and cost people Trillions (in Lost 401k Value),

    2) We have a Record for New Unemployment Claims

^Is that what Trump (and his supporters) consider "Winning"?

    Wow.:smh:

If that is what Trump calls "Winning", I wonder what "losing" would look like?

And instead of trying to make things better, here is what Trump Does:

    1) Disbands the NSC Pandemic Unit
    2) Calls the Viirus a Hoax
    3) Fails to maintain stockpiled ventilators in working order
    4) Makes an IMBECILE of himself (daily) during UnhInged Rants at the Update Briefings.

    So much Winning.:roflol:

Hey, it's the coronavirus that is the fault. Not Trump. I would say this is an artificial number, of course how a disease can be artificial, it can't be.

But the point is the economy would be doing very well if it weren't for the coronavirus. And as soon as this crisis is over, things will be going very well.

I also want to thank the President for expanding unemployment insurance so that folks displaced because of the Chinese Virus are encouraged and more easily getting it.

It is hard to keep a current list of all the wacky OP's but this certainly is in the top five. Blaming Trump for the spike in unemployment claims. Good Job OP. You are the king.

Since when is Trump responsible for the virus? He isn't. I wonder of Trump haters will put aside thier hatred long enough to actually see what is happening.

In a nutshell....no, they won't / can't. It's not their choice, it's a mental illness. Some point out Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS)

    Covid19 is not Trumps fault.
    Ebola was not Obama's fault.
    SARS was not Bush's fault,
and only a handful of herpes cases were Clinton's!

There is a reason Don Lemon's has been pushing for CNN not to air the Task Force Daily Briefings...he wants to keep their viewers low informed and wants to be able to push a false narrative. It's shameful

Funny, that it was during the New Deal under a very Social Democratic President F. D. Roosevelt that unemployment compensation insurance was enacted to help the unemployed weather the Great Depression. It was the socialists, communists and unionists who pressured Roosevelt to enact such reforms to help people. Now here you are a Trump supporter completely oblivious to the history of unemployment insurance praising Mr. Wack- Job-Clown Trump for expanding unemployment insurance. You right-wingers are a bunch of pushovers. You can easily be defeated in any debate. You and your self-confident idiocy are on open display for all to see.

FYI, the gap between the rich and poor in California is huge. Would you like to discuss class warfare where dems enjoy a super majority?

Jobless claims jumped this high for a very simple reason. The federal government has said that they will not require companies to pay their share of unemployment benefits for the duration of the covid restrictions. So pretty much every company that can is shifting their payroll to the federal government for the duration of the pandemic.

I heard on the radio this morning that the number of unemployed is now over $10 million people

Maybe this will help conservatives understand ...

    Covid-19 is NOT Trump's fault.
The RESPONSE to Covid-19 is Trump's responsibility.

    Benghazi was not Obama's fault.
The response to the Benghazi attacks was Obama's responsibility.

Conservatives DEMANDED 4 years of Congressional investigations over the Benghazi response which cost 4 lives and had zero economic impact. What did Obama know and when did he know it?

What should we demand for the Covid-19 response considering it will costs thousands of lives and trillions of lost dollars?
What did Trump know and when did he know it?

Wrong again. The oil shock itself was enough to tip the already shaky economy into a tailspin. Your self-confident idiocy is on open display for the world to see.

I thought I caught a whiff of MSNBC and now.. it's more than a whiff.... Shouldn't you be jumping with joy? Isn't this exactly what you've been hoping for since the president was elected? Why do you suppose it doesn't actually feel that way when we read your posts?

I'm a diehard "anyone but Trump" person, but this is a little over the top, IMO. Trump didn't create the virus. His mistakes come from dismissing it in the early days, which has probably cost many lives. Regardless of his incompetence, we would still have to shut things down, and the consequences, including massive unemployment, would have hit us regardless of who was in the White House.
