What "oil shock"? you mean that folks can get a gallon of gas for less than $1.50? That's not shocking. It's a relief.

No. It isn't. It means that American oil producers can't make money off a barrel of oil and are shutting down wells. It means that only the Saudi's can make money off oil because they have lighter crude and and cheaper drilling costs. It means demand is so low because the economy is in the crapper. Somewhat lower gas prices are good - drastically lower gas prices are very, very bad.

Go ask the fracking industry, those who hold their stocks and the banks who loaned them billions and are now afraid of not being paid back with interest. ALL THIS WOULD HAVE CREATED A DOMINO EFFECT THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE ECONOMY. Get a clue. Your self-confident idiocy is on open display for all to see.

That is like saying how is Hurricane Katrina Bush's fault? They both did not prepare at all! Hurricanes happen and so do viruses! The crucial thing is to prepare for them and quit playing golf so much. Trump's lard-a$$ needed to set the proper wheels in motion to soften the blow from such a pandemic as much as possible. Look South Korea has done a great job. They have healthcare for everyone. Trump is temperamentally and intellectually unfit to be president. He is completely out of his depth.

Thank you for a serious response to my silly joke. In reality, looking to the government in times like these is foolish regardless of party. The military doesn't have a choice but to wait for orders. I live in Leftyland and our mayor told us to go out and enjoy the parks and beaches, only to close them down due to crowds.

It kills me to see people call Trump an insane liar, but wait for him to tell them what to do to avoid a virus. Be responsible for you.

After reading your fear mongering, meltdown, rant, I just assumed you were a lib. My mistake. We will make it through this setback like the others.

Why didn't obama leave us with an economy that could withstand this?

    Thanks obama.

Aren't you the same guy who trashes american oil whenever possible because you don't like them in the first place? Seems a steady flow of crocodilian tears isn't your forte... And to put a super fine point on it, the economy is a reflection of what our government has asked us to do. That doesn't make it good or bad, just the reality of what happens when folks have to be afraid of leaving their homes.. But sure, it also has an effect on demand, and as long as it does, aren't you a cheerleader for the fact that suddenly emissions are being greatly reduced? Perhaps you just don't like the methods, but are you seriously going to tell us now that these reductions don't at least make you smirk a little because shouldn't it?

It just seems so antithetical to what you normally care about.

Perhaps the point is to not assign blame directly to individuals who did not play a part in the development.

TRUMP: "So with gasoline prices coming down, that’s like a tax cut. Frankly, that’s like a big tax cut, not a little tax cut for the consumer"

Also, lower fuel prices will boost domestic tourism, thus, economically beneficial.

In addition, lower jet fuel costs add new service and create new jobs, thus, good for the economy.

Last, tax cuts spur economic growth, thus, rationally, we should soon see a rise in Real GDP.

    MAGA!

How have the commies and socialist countries made out? Chill out and get back to us when you are interested in a discussion on some topic rather than a rant.

And here is something to ponder. You left wingers are always talking about a class war yet you push gun control to disarm the people. What's wrong with this picture?

Not a Trump voter, but what do you know about economics other than everybody else should cover your expenses?

Do you people have anything to offer other than hysteria and hyperbole? Relax. Have some wine/kava/ganja. The world is not going to end.
