Many prosecutors have been big proponents of plea bargains as they say that insisting on jury trials for every defendant would jam up the court system to the point that it wouldn't work.

From what I've read the Russians and Chinese to name just two do not hesitate to claim the "greatness" of their own countries.

The US monetary system is a centrally planned government monopoly.

All the liquidity being pumped into the banking system is inflationary, which means it devalues the wages and savings of working class Americans.

The inflationary monetary policy of the central bank is thievery on the grandest scale imaginable.

Then you would agree that almost all the poor people in the U.S. are thieves?

I'm talking about countries in the western world. I don't hear Swiss or Swedish people going around claiming to be the "greatest" in the world. They aren't so insecure that they constantly need to assert how "great" they are. They just live their lives and mind their own business.

Not necessarily. They live under an oppressive and exploitative political system that robs them of their agency and their labor.

If everyone is operating under the same basic set of rules then the system is a just one.

That's really a bunch of poppycok.

What you're really saying is, "it doesn't affect me, so screw 'em".

And that is why Paradigm Shifts are interesting to watch. The concept of institutional racism, which is what this topic infringes on, still requires the fight to continue on.

There are many different kinds of racism. The sad thing is that many people who want to "fight against racism" don't know the difference between "vestigial racism" of which there is plenty and "malignant racism" which is very rare today (fortunately).

You mean like the kids who were called the Central Park 5? Who were found guilty and not acquitted til someone confessed to the murder of that woman jogger?

It's very easy to just dismiss them as "law breakers" when it is not you or someone you personally know.

So? Mistakes happen in any system. Ignoring the obvious as well.

It makes their jobs a hell of a lot easier, doesn't it?

Just plead guilty in exchange for a lighter sentence so I don't have to bother spending weeks preparing for a trial or prosecuting one in a courtroom. It doesn't really matter if you're innocent or guilty, what matters is what's good for me. Also forget about the Bill of Rights protecting your right to due process and a trial by jury, that's a waste of time. Thanks for your help.

Oh and BTW, if you actually want to go to trial, I'll make sure to rig the whole thing and get you the longest sentence possible.

The best Amerikan justice money can buy.

Are you familiar with that case?

The signs were there. The kids had alibis, but the investigators were under so much pressure to find and convict someone they cut corners. That's not justice.

You know I’m referring to those who actually willingly break the law. Are there cases where people are wrongly incarcerated? Of course. Our legal system is not a perfect system and it’s extremely unfortunate and horrific that innocent people get sent to prison. It again, I was referring to those who DO break the law.

Simple metrics that matter how? Individually? Do you need your country to have greater income equality like Ethiopia? The lack of sanitary sewer systems might be a pill, but at least you wouldn't envy your neighbor. Would your quality of life be better in a country with less diversity like Norway? Do you need your country to be more white to be happy? Maybe you need your country to be entirely literate, like Cuba? That way you can read all the news that fit to print in Granma. Just how do you think these individual metrics fit together to place a country above the U.S. if you haven't experienced any of them?

That's not an answer to my question, is it? How does one earn a government subsidy?
