Stimulus check - heads up

    Congress took too long passing the stimulus bill. After a full week of Congress members and Trump proposing various plans to get cash into the hands of Americans to help them weather the virus, Trump finally signed a stimulus bill into law on March 27th.

    Steve Mnuchin said at that time that checks would be sent out in approximately 3 weeks but this past Sunday, he said that checks will not be going out until mid-April and could take up to 20 weeks to all go out. The checks will come in waves, the first checks will start on April 13th and will go to those people who already have direct deposit. Then, 3 weeks later on May 4th, checks will be mailed to those people without direct deposit.

    If the IRS doesn't have your banking information they are going to open a secure portal to enter banking information for direct deposit until mid-April so their check will come sooner via that route, otherwise they will have to wait possible as much as 20 weeks.

    I had H&R Block do my 2019, then direct deposit the return to their "emerald card" (prepaid Mastercard). The agent who did my taxes claims that the stimulus will be sent to that card. I guess we'll see.

    Fraud? I don't think so. If I Didn't Know Better, I would say this is a move by the IRS to get people's information so they can find out who isn't paying their taxes. And then monitor them. ;)

    I also think that this so called coronavirus aid is taking far too long to get into the hands of the people.

    If the govt has to send us 1200 bucks a month until this virus levels out and then goes away this may be so sucessful for our economy and business that it will set the stage for ubi! ! Lol

    Even the cons would keep the bucks while complaining about it ! Lol

    We could end welfare and SSI !

    And min wage too! !

    And once again save the capitalism our govt and elites used to wage war on our middle class!

    I have been doing direct deposit with IRS for years. I will get mine hopefully in a couple of weeks
