What's wrong with mail in ballots? You don't think people cannot mess with in person votes? It's time for online voting. Proof of citizenship and eligibility can still be obtained by 'registration' and renewal processes.

Do t get me wrong, if I had to vote in person, I'd risk my life to do so. I am voting Trump and there should be no delay in my right to excersising democracy.

I'll be there to vote for Trump at the normal time and I won't be there any later than that.

How the Coronavirus Pandemic fares over the next two months will determine the way we resolve our 2020 election. By election day in November, we could be into the second wave of this pandemic, & unable to vote in person without severe danger from exposure to carriers of the virus. Mail in ballots are a legitimate alternative, but will delay any fast results generally expected on election night. Fears of voting fraud in either case, is grossly overblown. Repeated studies of voting fraud have all concluded it happens, but in such small increments that none of it would have changed the outcome of the election--especially national elections.

if by November it's not safe enough to make 1 trip for your vote, the election is the least if our problems. were screwed.

Constitutionally it cannot happen without an amendment passed by 2/3 of congress and accepted by 3/4 of the state legislatures. Besides, as spiritgide implies, if Trump's term is extended (which no Democrat in congress would vote for), or if Trump wins, you can with confidence bet your last dollar that the Democrats would scream bloody murder, claim the election was not valid, try to throw him out of office, and, if the Democrats keep the House, begin impeachment 4.0.

Its obvious from reading the replies in there that democrats, as always, instead of addressing the issue at hand, VOTER FRAUD, flip it to some fantasy story about Trump becoming emergency dictator of the country. Well done!

So to avoid imaginary fraud, you propose real fraud.

The worst problem with that is it could cause more dead than the coronavirus would.

Except that "the issue at hand", as you call it, doesn't exist. Well... It does exist. But it's mostly done by Republicans. All forms of voter suppression I would categorize as fraud. I would also characterize as "fraud" extorting a foreign leader to force him to help re-elect the President*. These have been proven. You, on the other hand, haven't even expressed what "fraud" you are referring to.
