Trump SHOULD have sounded alarms on Day One. What did he do? He dismissed it as a nothing. No national emergency or even anything required. Just an acceptance/assurance that Trump the JC Incarnate and his mighty USA could and will withstand this thing. After all this is the USA.

BUT, you do not pretend that it will go away as Trump did......with April heat and dumb assertions of a vaccine just weeks away. And, the best point he ever handed me is.....you do not defend your failures by bragging to a journalist about how clever you are concerning why South Korea is beating the socks off USA with testing by asserting that was because of a 'fact' that Seoul has a population of 38 milllion. If that was not enough for 'you' I am stuffed if I know what will ever be.

Anyway, back the OP, I really hope that the House makes Trump answer for this Unconscionable Misfeasance.

 

Right now everyone is already starting to look for where to point their fingers. If we slide into a depression and hundreds of thousands die, people will be hunting for someone to blame with ferocity. They will blame China, that is for sure. But then they will find some old tweets by a certain president who claimed that covid wasn't a threat. I hope we don't get to the point where this happens, but if it does, Trump will be trounced by anyone with a heartbeat who runs against him.

 

If we slide into a depression, we will be reminded of Dr. Fauci who said that his economically unwise and frankly ignorant plan was "inconvenient". It wasn't merely inconvenient, it was unprecedented on a global scale never before seen. In fact, to me it's not a "if" we slide into depression, but when.

I do hold Trump to account for allowing them to hijack his government, but I also hold them to account for hijacking it at all. We used to believe November is when we change administrations. But this virus has made a government in name only crisis unthinkable in the country.

 

AND.....Fauci did his job as a scientist. He told it as it was. On the other hand, Humpty Trumpty was full-on with his usual garbage. Can you please see that for what it is? By the end of next week it will be 5 times the total.
By the end of the following week it will be three months and 10 times the full year total for H1N1.
