Democrats Create Select Committee to Investigate Trump’s Coronavirus Response

This weekend the Cofefe-19 virus' US death toll will surpass the H1N1 total for it's first year.
By the end of next week it will be 5 times the total.
By the end of the following week it will be three months and 10 times the full year total for H1N1.

That should put an end to any comparisons.

 

The left can’t get any lower. First they continued to spread the Chinese lies, then they attempted to extort the American people, and now instead of helloing they are using this as yet another attempt to undo the 2016 election...pathetic

PROVIDED....They don't use the opportunity to make it all about Trump for political purposes. Unfortunately that is exactly what Nancy, Schiff, and Schumer are going to do. We both know that. The fact that Nancy et al held up the $2 trillion stimulus bill in order to add things like millions for the National Endowment of the Arts, airplane emissions reductions and many many other things that had NOTHING to do with what the stimulus was about shows that this is all political to them and they don't actually give a crap about average Americans. They just care about power.

Maybe if they employ an outside NEUTRAL panel.... but they won't.

 

No, it is an idiotic, moronic, and self serving partizan thing to do, not to mention a complete waste of congressional time and effort. Maybe we can have a select Senate committee investigate why Pelosi held up the time critical support bill for a week so she could kick around tons of stuff that had zero to do with the coronovirus calamity.

 

Last I checked I am not the Speaker if the House of Representatives nor head of the House Intelligence Committee. What were they doing last November through January when all this was breaking?

They had all 3 branches of the Federal government tied up with impeachment while this virus was taking hold.

Pelosi has briefing envy, and this way she and her flying monkeys can hold a daily briefing too, though, they will need Congress back in session to do so. She is trying to feud with the president while the president takes action to meaningfully address the crisis.

Pelosi and her partisans will likely be seen as focused on themselves while Americans clearly are in the mood to support our national institutions in this crisis. Compare the media’s focus on itself and its existing antagonisms with Trump rather than on the urgent issues and how that has created a further gulf between them and the American People. They failed to grasp the moment and Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler won't either.

America tired of all the re-litigation of the 2018 election over the last 3 quarters and Pelosi's attempts reignite her efforts will likely be met with revulsion. Folks are stuck in their homes, desperate to find out what’s happening with the coronavirus crisis. Pelosi's, Schiff's and Nadlers briefings will surely have a strong whiff of bias, with far too much emphasis on past actions rather than on what is happening at the moment. No one but them has more than a passing interest is such partisan pettiness at the moment.

These folks and the Fake News Media want their feud with Trump to be the story and their claims of his shortcomings in the past to be the full focus. For Trump the crisis itself is the real story, and is much more focused on what is happening today and tomorrow in his daily briefings. That's what the American People are rightly focused on as well. This won't work any better than any of Pelosi's last 3 stunts.

Nancy should look investigating her own response. Undermining the travel ban and encouraging people to come to large gathering was dangerous, and reckless

 

This is all Democrats trying to politicize the health crisis PERIOD. Forget trying to keep the government and government resources concentrated on getting us through this, forget the economy. It's bring out the "investigation" hammer and force the government to use valuable resources to answer and tie up key people in their partisan politics.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she will appoint a House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis. Its task will be to oversee—meaning investigate—the government’s aid efforts, which so far run to more than $2 trillion. “Where there’s money there’s also frequently mischief,” Mrs. Pelosi said. “We want to make sure there are not exploiters out there.”

The committee isn’t necessary because the law passed last week already included mechanisms for accountability. It set up a Congressional Oversight Commission, with five members, to keep an eye on a $500 billion fund that was allocated to help stabilize the economy. That money will also be watched by an independent inspector general. The overall $2 trillion package will be scrutinized and audited by a new Pandemic Response Accountability Committee, made up of other inspectors general.

He restricted travel from the main place of the coronavirus origin back in the first week of February. He moved quicker than any other presidential response to something like this. How do figure he's been abysmal?
