Would have been smarter not to close anything. The economic fallout from the virus will be many times worse than the virus itself.

Liberty University decided to stupidly reopen after Spring Break. That forced thousands of kids to expose themselves to this horror.

    wanna guess what happened?

yea a couple dozen kids got the V and they closed the school

    brilliant

On the bright side this thing could finally force movement on affordable high speed internet in rural areas...

You would think so, but America is highly pragmatic and forgetful. If recovery is fast all this will be a bad memory in a year or so...

They should have closed the schools decades ago once computer based learning became feasible. Then things like sports activities, etc. could have been moved to the private sector. That's right, the GOVERNMENT should NEVER have been a huge focus and contributor to sports/entertainment. Just IMAGINE the extreme savings to taxpayers and the private sector of shuttering this archaic statist graft and propaganda trough forever.

The reason we won't see this kind of rational, efficient shift that the private sector is held to daily is the infinite corruption and greed of the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-trial lawyer MSM Complex, especially the corrupt, parasitic public unions (a vast supermajority of them vote Democrat in line with the Soprano Crime Party their unions control).

Several key branches of the Complex make bank/power/$$ on "schools" that are effectively jobs programs, socialized day care, government and media indoctrination camps rolled all into one. Not one iota of it is legitimately Constitutional at a Federal level.

Watch as Asia cleans our clocks in this, watch as their brightest students begin taking the mantles of innovation and IP that we -used- to have before the welfare state/identity rot, and crooked public unions. Only a matter of time and irrefutable inevitability. This latest virus scam is yet one more chance to wake up, but will probably go unheeded.
