One month ago people were expecting that we would be aggressively addressing this and we would quickly come out of it without millions of people being put out of work, like South Korea did.

One month ago people did not expect us to be in a worse state than Italy, Spain, or Iran... leading the world in the number of infections and deaths.

One month ago we expected to have a single, strong and coherent message from a competent leader empathizing with us and giving us solace... we have received the exact opposite from Trump.

One month ago people hoped that Trump would finally rise to the moment, and were disappointed.

What a pile of crap. You are comparing South Korea, a population of 51 million to the US with 330 plus million. I have traveled all over South Korea....there is zero comparison to the US.

The hot spots in the US have been dealt with by governors more because it is their States. Trump has been there for the governors so if anyone has dropped the ball it is them.

About a week later, the third week of January, Trump issued a 14 day quarantine for travelers returning from China. The left condemned him. A week later, on Jan31 Trump issued a China travel ban. The left again condemned him. In point, Trump was on this from the get go, while the left had their heads up their own collective anti Trump rump. Trump was out of the gate and halfway around the track before the left, still in barn, realized it.

If Trump had even suggested doing any of this, the Democrats, their willing accomplices in the media, and their useful message-board idiots would have screamed bloody murder about using the pandemic as an excuse to create a police state.

 

Fauci was recommending a national lockdown to the Trump admin back in early March, clearly Donnie wasn’t receptive to that idea. Just remember, every briefing they have where they talk about striving for “minimal deaths” by doing “full mitigation”, they aren’t being serious; because “full mitigation” would mean doing EVERYTHING they can, and they simply aren’t.

The federal government does not have the power to order people to stay home and businesses to close - and most certainly cannot enforce such a thing.
State governments do - and that's to Fauci was talking to.
