Why doesn't socialism work?

None of them are socialist. They are just like us with slightly different spending priorities and more government control of health care.

 

What is one of the main differences in the demographics of the populations. And we Americans are more self sufficient and self determining and more free to choose than countries where the populations are more willing to trust their futures to the whims of government bureaucrats.

I think Churchill knew more about socialism and communism than you EVER will. Why has the US economy led the world for decades? What does English speaking have to do with anything. You want socialism go to Venezuela or Cuba. Try North Korea for the darkest socialism. Convince me Russia and Ukraine were better under their socialism. How about Georgia now under capitalism, better or worse? Why are the Netherland and Scandinavian countries who were bragging a few decades ago about how socialism would make their countries utopias but have since turned back into roaring capitalistic countries.

 

The War On Drugs has been a very bipartisan enterprise. Surely you know that.

Our obsolete and failed education system should be liquidated and the revenue that floods into it should be diverted to the parents and guardians of students. It is time to empower the people to choose among alternatives to our massive corrupt education bureaucracy.

Finland is told its welfare state can't cope with virus fallout

One of the world’s best-funded welfare states is starting to crack as the fallout of the coronavirus triggers mass unemployment.

Finland’s system of jobless benefits can’t cope with the sudden surge in demand, the country’s biggest unemployment fund, YTK, said.

There are more than 300,000 Finns who suddenly find themselves without work, either through temporary layoffs or outright job cuts. A large chunk of them may have to wait until next year to get their first benefit payment, YTK said.

Money’s not the problem, Managing Director Sanna Alamaki said in letters to members sent through April 1. It’s “that the benefit applications can’t be processed and, consequently, money can’t be paid out quickly enough,” she said....

....The fund, which represents 20 per cent of wage earners in Finland, called on the government to help, and asked that it provide subsidies to companies laying off workers so that they still get paid through the payroll.

Sounds like the are listening to Trump and Munchin and trying to keep private companies liquid. Thankful they dumped their socialist economy and went back to capitalism. And their guaranteed basic income experiment, fail.
