Now you do realize you are comparing an attack on a United States Embassy to a global pandemic. Which one is truly more of a President's responsibly?

The quoted has been attributed to Marie Antoinette although her beheading during the French Revolution happened in 1793 and we know how contorted stories can be especially passed down for 250 years. But essentially, the wealthy and privileged don't care what happens to anyone but themselves. It's no different in 2020 when those in power can ignore millions of people that are behind the eight-ball right now -- at this very moment, so what happens to those people in a month or even two weeks?

People just aren't grasping the enormity of this disaster. Yes, there will be food shortages. Yes, there will be thefts, rioting and looting. Yes, the Army will be called to contain the chaos. Yes, many will die. But isn't that what the elites really want? As Charles Dickens character Scrooge said "if they would rather die, they better do it and decrease the surplus population."

Our planet couldn't go on much longer without some super virus appearing, whether it was completely developed by some powerful men who knew what it would do to the world, or whether it was a freak natural occurrence, the result will be the same. Many people are going to die, not from virus but from their brethren. It won't take long until people get desperate because they need to feed their kids or get medicine for their sicknesses, that's when it will all get very real for all the nonbelievers and people that are just not accepting that this is a major catastrophic event that's going to change our lives permanently.

    the terrorist attacked the Embassy

    the Virus attacked our country

the Presidents are responsible for how they handled the attack

Trump failed us by downplaying the virus early on

kinda like Bush failed us by getting us into two 10+ year wars, should have just been a quick response via air, not two 10+ year wars

Oddly enough, you skipped right over what Obama did about the embassy attack. Go on....

My phone cost $120 and my monthly bill is $44 - not an $800 phone that was bought on credit and has interest tacked on, and a bill pushing $100 per month. It is called being smart and frugal.

So no poor people spend money on beer and alcohol?
So no poor people spend money on dope?
So no poor people spend money on getting tatted up?
So no poor people spend money on cigarettes?
So no poor people eat at restaurants when they could have eaten rice and 99 cent per pound end cut pork chops?
So no poor people get into a mortgage they really can't afford?
So no poor people rent apartments that are above their budget allowance?
So no poor people buy an expensive SUV when they would have been better off buying a cheap used car from Hertz?

Are you saying that poor people are very wise and always make wonderful financial decisions?

Ya know, when I was poor, I didn't do any of the things I listed above, and amazingly, I am no longer poor. Funny though, I am still frugal as hell.

Really speechless anyone could possible compare these items but hey different strokes for different folks. This one in my mind has 100% zero in common with anything whatsoever and I think most wouldn't even consider the comparison.

It is a waste of valuable time that a poor person could put to better use.

So you are saying that people are financial geniuses who budget their money wisely and frugally? That no poor people waste money? That no poor people frivolously waste their time instead of doing things that would better their financial situation?

If you don't pay yourself first, adjusting your bills, loans, and liabilities downward (and lowering your standard of living) so that you can pay yourself first, you're always going to be poor no matter what else you do.

The difference is, you know this person. It's also known as your anecdotal experience, but applying your experience to the population at large is what makes it judgmental. Did you not express your thoughts to your acquaintance, or keep it your yourself?

Then you really may not know the full story, is that correct? Maybe he/she has mental or emotional issues?

Look, everything we watch, listen or read is designed to groom us into being consumers of stuff. For some people, that turns into a sickness, an obsessive compulsive disorder to buy stuff to fill a phantom need. That is not something to make fun of.

I just get tired of all these blanket judgments I see around here. Stop and think for a moment. Most of us don't know the whole story of even our closest friends and relatives. We are far too quick to pass judgment rather than compassion, or at the very least, withhold judgment till you actually know the person's story. No one is saying you have to accept their behavior, but asking questions with some compassion provides more help than judging.

he was investigated how many times over that... all times found to have done nothing wrong

Bush was not able to save the people of 911 either... but we do not blame him for that

    we blame the terrorists

if those attacks were over a long period of time that would be different

I didn't say anything of the sort. If you have to distort what I had said to make a point maybe you should try again.

Assuming that people who are poor *because* of financial illiteracy (poor spending etc) ignores the reality that getting ahead is getting more and more difficult as time goes on.

I'm certainly not seeing that in my town, all the usual migrant worker housing is as full as usual, this time of season and plenty of orange trucks are running loads to the juice plant, same as the last decade I have lived here. If I go up the road to Wachula, I'd guarantee the state farmers market, has the pickers unloading melon buses....If, it was harvest season yet, it starts in mid April and they ripen later, the further north you go in Florida. Where did you hear that?

Did anyone ever ask Bush or anyone in his administration for help prior to the 911 attack? Obama and his administration ignored a request for more protection from the embassy.

If getting ahead is becoming more difficult, wouldn't that make "being financially smart" even more important?

The issue is responsibility. Some believe that a person is never to be held responsible for their situation, instead, it is "society," or "evil rich guys," or "whatever other bogeyman" that is the reason why so many live check to check and have no emergency fund.

Others believe that a person should be responsible for themselves.

And a lot of that racism is hidden in the posts of a guy who goes by "Lucifer." There, how do you like that? You seem to think that you can read minds and that you can get away with using that race card indescriminately. Well, so can I - and your posts ooze racism in your assumptions you hold about minorities. And before you go and report me to the mods, and mods, when you read this, understand that in Post # 16, Lucifer is the one who, unwarranted, called me a racist - and that started this entire line of thought.
