Alabama governor won’t issue stay-at-home order because 'we are not California'

Orange - Statewide shelter in place order
Green - Orders apply in some areas
    Gray - None

Florida just got onboard today even though the infections there have been spreading like wildfire.

Georgia got onboard today with the Gov claiming he didn't know you could be contagious but asymptomatic. This is funny because many children have known this for weeks.

Republicans are killing a lot of people.

They are simply following the recommendations of POTUS.

Trump said the virus will disappear on its own when it gets warmer.

Some of these Republican politicians want to let the masses gather in church. Are you kidding me? Where is your god exactly? Where has he been for 4.5 billion years? Your silly beliefs will cost foolish rightwingers when the Science says not to gather.

My county has 10 cases of Cvirus. It was 9 two days ago. It was 7 three days before that. Most of the counties here in WA have a similar or lower rate of infection. Because most of the counties in WA are rural and 'social distancing' is how we live every day.

We are still working. The only place i've seen that is closed is an antiques boutique. Everywhere else is, and has been, open throughout the emergency.

King county (Seattle) has an infection rate of 1/1000 people, and its itsting worse. They need to 'shelter in place'. We don't.

We don't need to shut the whole country down. Just the population-dense areas. Every state has large areas with low population that do not need to shut down for a handfull of infected. As much as Cvirus is dangerous, so is the poverty that will ensue from an economic collapse. Shutting everything down for too long will kill more people than the virus if we run out of food, electricty, clean water and medical supplies.

And Democrat leaders downplayed it just as much. Your point? Obama said gay people shouldn’t marry and ISIS are the JV team. Presidents change their tune. Or is it just Democrats which are allowed to get a pass on being wrong? Then again do you know for sure warmer weather won’t effect this flu like every other flu? Want to bet? Trump didn’t make that up you know. Doctors have suggested it’s a distinct possibility. They’re guessing, just like you.

@op I am not sure why you are complaining about the only state with 0 deaths from Corona.

Nope the whole country doesn’t need to shut down at all. Take precautions, sure. But like you said rural areas are going to keep going. It’s moronic to punish them. We need to start opening up any areas of the country that aren’t effected. Convince everyone to wear masks for a while but go about every day life and keep the local economies going.

The cure can be far worse than the virus. Even 100k deaths if we get there, isn’t really worth economic collapse. What good is surviving when then there’s nothing to survive in anymore? What kind of life does an elderly person have left when their savings are gone? You think they would rather live another few years while their kids and grandkids futures are in extreme jeopardy? My parents and in laws already said they had good lives. They would rather roll the dice than watch everything they worked for go down the drain.

Those who took the threat seriously were ridiculed by the President you worship.

    That's my point.

The stay at home order does not prevent ANY of that from happening.
Its there for everyone else that what you typed does not apply to.

You can still go jogging, farming, grocery shopping, go to work if you can, etc etc. Its mandated that business have to use their insurance and execute stay at home practices.

No idea what kind of hoodoo canard WAPO is trying to deflect and project to the South from the MASSIVE FAILURES of the Big BLUE CORRUPT DEMOCRAT Cities THIS WEEK, but it must be a doozy to fool even their double digit IQ readers (and shills and parrots).

Wonder if anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together is buying? Doubt it.

After this weekend, just over two months since the first US case, deaths from Covid-19 will surpass all of the deaths in the first year of H1N1. By next weekend it will be 5 times as many At the end of the following week, three months in, 10-20 times as many.

    Does this help you understand?

You do! The progression you describe is the one my county had two weeks ago. Today there are 125 cases.

Wait until the families of the dead come with their lawyers...
So you know better than Fauci and ALL of the experts saying otherwise.

Inslee closed all of the schools in the State on March 13. And you don't know the infection rate. How many people in rural areas have been tested? Have you? How do you know you aren't a carrier?

Do you feel it is your right to put other people's lives at risk based on your scientific expertise?

The canard is called "saving lives".

    we're still at 10

though, interestingly enough, while checking just a moment ago, a news article popped up announcing that our county was actually ordered to 'shelter in place' on march 24th when we had 6 cases. First I heard of it. Doesnt seem like anyone else around here did either.

And when Trump decided to take precautions by banning flights from China early on he was seriously ridiculed as being a racist xenophobe by the opposing party who hates him.

And now we're all but closed our borders entirely to non essential travel and most states have locked themselves down. Do Democrats support the Chinese travel ban at the current time? The answer is yes. Did Democrats support the Chinese travel ban weeks ago? The answer is no. If they were taking it seriously then they would have supported it then.

Lets not sit here and pretend that either party took this seriously at first.

He called it a hoax and didn't take this seriously until 4 days ago. He said it was like the flu. He said it will just go away. He thought he could ban some flights from one country and stop this WHEN WE ALREADY KNEW IT WAS HERE!

Trump is the deadliest president in history. He will have the blood of tens of thousands of people on his hands because of his stupidity.

Even now he still can't bring himself to stop shaking hands and standing in groups. He is more worried about his image than the thousands of people he is killing through his ignorance and arrogance.

So if Trump called it a hoax and didn't take it seriously yet the Democrats took it seriously then why did they not support Trump's travel ban from China?

They support it now, why didn't they support it in the first place if they were taking this seriously while Trump was dilly dallying around about it?

I feel we shouldn't completely kill the economy on an unknown. I don't who is infected, but I know the confirmed rate in my county is 4 per week, because thats how many new confirmed cases we have since a week ago. Its 10 total now, which indicates we're not curving like Seattle and NY did. We're on 'lockdown', technically, since the 24th, although its being treated more as a suggestion. If we go snother week with only another 6 cases, I'll be pushing to lift it here.

Because Democrats don't know what Trump knows. Trump had access to Intelligence assessments showing that a travel ban from China would slow down the infection so he could prepare the country. But he didn't prepare the country! So other than moving the calendar a week or two, and producing two extra weeks of losses to the economy... what did he accomplish with it?
