Kay Ivey just announced statewide. The Mayor of Mobile and earlier declared a city curfew 10PM to 5AM.

Alabama's looks pretty standard. YEA Auto repair, my new front bumper for my Z4 gets in Tuesday. It's been my sanity to get out of the house and there's a long way around to visit my son, family visits OK.

Yeah we only have the best leaders in the world on the Task Force leading this thing and they are SOOOOOO political.

Don't you think it's time we came together on this and dismissed our political grievances for just a little while, once we get over this you can get right back on them.

Trump ordered Pence to refuse to talk to my governor because my governor wasn't sufficiently "appreciative" of Trump!

I'm not a big fan of leadership that is more concerned about being personally praised than he is about the livs of those he leads.

And, let's remember that Trump has never countered the right wing media that declared COVID a partisan political plot.

Let's remember Trump's attacks on NY - accusing them of stealing supplies, declaring them to be irresponsible, denying them the products he has promised, etc.

So, a hospital ship was sent to NYC. But, almost no patients are on that ship. They refuse to take COVID patients!

Kushner claims 200,000 federal N95 masks got sent to NY. But, they were only sent to resellers that take bids from anyone they want to. So, they are still left bidding against other states. As the admirial stated in a recent briefing, they are not setting up a new delivery channel - that is, they aren't sending masks to hospitals that need them. They are using the existing chain - which is through for profit sellers of PPE.

Cuomo points out that when FEMA outbids them, NY loses the contracts even for masks for which hospitals have already signed!!

Our federal response has been a crap fest.

There are great suggestions for fixing some of these problems - a few well stated by Cuomo.

So, YES. It's time for this government to start woking with states where Americans are dying.

    No, he didn't.

Considering Nancy held up the 2 trillion stimulus for tons of pork that had nothing to do with covid and has been claiming that Trump was slow to respond to it even though he was responding to it before any Democrat did....yeah, they are using covid as a partisan political ploy.

You seem to forget that Trump was just repeating what your own governor had said. LINK: People are stealing masks and other medical equipment from hospitals, New York Gov. Cuomo says

I haven't read up on any of your other claims so won't comment on them.

Completely false. Trump said he wouldn't call him. He never told Pence not to and, in fact, acknowledged that he and Pence differed on that, and that the difference was okay.

    Please stop making up nonsense...

Of course they are refusing them, because the ship wasn't sent to New York to care for Covid-19 patients.

The ship is there so that hospital beds will open up by treating non-Covid illnesses and injuries on the ship. If you fall down a flight of stairs and break your leg, you'll go to the ship, not to Mt. Sinai...

Yes, and he also directed Pence to refuse to talk to my governor.

My governor's response was that he and Pence talked frequently and had a productive relationship.

I am fully aware of how the hospital ships are planned to be used. The point here is that Trump brags about how much he helped with that ship. But in point of fact, the hospitals are so overrun that they have had to be hard core in not providing service that isn't emergent. So, those ships don't provide what Trump brags about.

Trump should be facilitating the needs hospitals have.

And, acts like failing to provide PPE that the governmnet owns are just plain not acceptable.

    No he didn't...

No you're not. If you understood the role of the ship, you wouldn't have whined about them refusing to take Covid patients...

They easily could, though. The people need to be brought to the ship, though. Or do you think Trump should be driving a bus through the city picking up people who need medical care?

It's not Trump's fault the ship isn't being optimally utilized. Maybe Bill DeBlasio should get off his dead ass and start actually doing something...

Please explain how exactly your new AR-15 is going to protect you from the Covid19 virus that you just infected yourself with by picking it up and looking down the sights?

He was offering that as a suggestion, not an order. What's deftly omitted from the USA Today article (shocking, I know) is that later in that statement Trump acknowledged that he and Pence have very different styles. It's akin to you saying "I'm going to invest in pork bellies" and me saying to you "Pants, don't invest in pork bellies". It's a suggestion, and hardly an order.

But you libs just go ahead and spin it in whatever way is gonna' make you feel good.

The rest of us will just watch you and laugh...

Maybe if your governor wasn't more concerned about covering up her own lacking and attacking the Task Force she'd get moved up the totem pole.
    False again

We found them warehousing supplies other areas are in need of.

DUH do you not even keep up with the news. The hospitals ships are there to take NON COVID patients from the local hospitals to free up those hospital beds and staff to treat the COVID patients they were never sent to the ports to tread COVID............geeeezzzzz

Yes through the established distribution chains, manufacturers do not have direct distribution chains.

Cuomo has been covering up his failings from day one.

Better than in any country and had it been perfect you would still be complaining and posting you specious comments as like with yours about the hospital ship above.

Agreed, nor should we have excessive stupidity on the part of religious authorities:

DOJ INTERVENES IN MISSISSIPPI DRIVE-IN CHURCH CASE, SAYS CITY’S ACTIONS ‘TARGET RELIGIOUS CONDUCT.’

The Justice Department intervened in a Mississippi church’s lawsuit by saying in a court filing that it "strongly suggests that the city’s actions target religious conduct" after the church sued police for ticketing congregants during a drive-in service amid coronavirus.

The Justice Department is siding with Temple Baptist Church in Greenville, Miss., after Greenville police officers began issuing $500 tickets to congregants who refused to leave a parking lot where the church was holding a drive-in service.

"Today, the Department filed a Statement of Interest in support of a church in Mississippi that allegedly sought to hold parking lot worship services, in which congregants listened to their pastor preach over their car radios, while sitting in their cars in the church parking lot with their windows rolled up," Attorney General Bill Barr said Tuesday. "The City of Greenville fined congregants $500 per person for attending these parking lot services – while permitting citizens to attend nearby drive-in restaurants, even with their windows open."

"The City appears to have thereby singled churches out as the only essential service (as designated by the state of Mississippi) that may not operate despite following all CDC and state recommendations regarding social distancing."
    Fails the two pronged test:
    1. Does the city have a compelling interest? - if so,
    2. Is this the LEAST INTRUSIVE means of meeting that interest?
"Under strict scrutiny, the city has the burden to demonstrate that prohibiting the small church here from holding the drive-in services at issue here -- services where attendees are required to remain in their cars in the church parking lot at all times with their windows rolled up and spaced consistent with CDC guidelines -- is the least restrictive means of furthering a compelling interest," the filing states. "As of now, it seems unlikely that the city will be able to carry that burden."

Folks that want to wield arbitrary authoritarian power are NOT going to like all of Trump's Constitutionalist Judges or DOJ.

Why is this even being discussed???

Greenville barely qualifies as a city. Whether or not it's police made a mistake is hardly national news.
