And someone’s fault if they can’t earn it. They are adult versions of the “I failed my test because my teacher does not like me” kid we all saw in 6th grade.

Right but what about other parts of the world and what they bring in? Congo has some of the largest deposits of minerals in the world. OPEC countries produce oil. Japan has cars and cool electronics. No offense, but are you saying after this is over we're going to stop eating fresh fruits and veggies, stop needing minerals for our manufacturing, and stop needing oil for cool cars, and plastic for electronics? We're still going to be dependent on the world.

They have money. Kinda need that. And if we trade with them that means less headaches for our allies in the Pacific.

Yea, because I knew 3 years ago that if I pretend that I'm the owner of a hotel I will be in a position to inform you 3 years later of a fake position just in an attempt to impress you, a nobody, on the internet. You haven't told me what you're generating? Is it hot air?

I've often wonder what keeps the wealthy talking heads on the left from living a standard working class life and using their excess money to help those they "cry" for. Nobody is stopping them from giving up their 13 room mansions and $100,000 cars and living like I do in a $200,000 home, driving a $25,000 car and often not buying things because I can not afford to spend the money. They could do so much good if they wanted too, but they would prefer to take more of my money and "do good" with it than do that.

If they treat us fair, and it is a good deal for Americans.....we can deal with them. Thanks to Donald Trump we are an exporter of oil. The opposition would have it another way no doubt. It sort of like we go the way of Social Security. SS was sold to Americans as an individual insurance policy. Behind our backs.....it was dumped into the General Fund. Global trade has been the same way. Corporate America and the Government have sold out our American interests to save a buck and make money. Now perhaps and hopefully, they will consider our interests as well as security when permitting any global trade.

Yes and Trump slayed the Wabberjack and rescued Narnia. We get it he did something good. But your underlying premises are still missing something key. It's not about a "good deal" because what is economically good isn't always politically good. These "good deals", what does that term mean? One that enhances US security and hegemony? Or is it just Trump getting another resort to open up in some far off land?

People won't go to work when there are bodies in the street anyway.

That's not the point, obviously. Democracies (those who are actually winning the fight, like mine) are doing what needs to be done to survive not only the disease, but the economic fallout. If that means a temporary police state, so be it. 99% of citizens want it, and given a choice would vote for it.

Humanity is united against a common enemy. Now is not the time to be griping about local rules and regulations discolouring your day or your personal politics.

Nonsense. Your poorest are your fattest. No one is going to starve to death.

Jeez Louise .. how many allowances do you want to stop and make on the way to fighting this war? How about we stop and think of the poor alcoholics? The gamblers? The incarcerated? You're not interested in winning this thing at all, it seems.

I'm not American. I live in a country which has 'surrendered essential freedoms' and is doing much better than America in the fight against this disease.

When your relatives are dying, you can't get your non-virus treatable conditions treated because healthcare professionals are overwhelmed, you can't work, you've lost your house, and you run out of money because too many people needed welfare at once, ask yourself the same question. Ask yourself if your 'freedom to roam' was more important.
