    No. Speed up your thinking a little. Cuomo and Deblasio aren't responsible for any action by the Federal Government. Since trump declared a NATIONAL EMERGENCY on 3-15, do you know who is responsible?? Again, it's not Cuomo or Deblasio.

    There's enough fault to go around and include the golden haired pervert. After he was elected and BEFORE he was inaugurated trump and his staff were briefed by the White House on pandemic procedures. Not only did trump disregard the briefing he dissolved the departments set up by Obama for handling pandemics.

    There's no such thing as available test kits when a new virus comes around. Test kits have to be approved by the FDA. The South Korean test kits were not approved. Now, I will say I voted for Trump because he was willing to bypass the bureaucracy or find a way around it. So, one of us was misguided. And the reagent that failed. Why not use existing reagents? That is a cultural problem, but a huge mountain for an outsider to come in and climb to override.

    The main question I have is, if the pandemic response crowd was so important, why no AI solution for determining the right test to detect a new pathogen? Why no inventory of test kit parts so when the AI determines the right test, it can be assembled. Why no arrangement so tests can be done in mass, using private and public resources? Why no infrastructure for drive thru testing? I would have fired those people if I found they did nothing for years since SARs, MERS, H1N1, etc.

    This threads about Cuomo blaming Trump for a shortage of ventilators that Cuomo himself is entirely responsible for. There is just no way around that hard as you may try.

    Cuomo is not absolved of ignoring his own health department’s recommendation because Trump declared a national emergency.

    They are responsible for their own failures to insure their voters have enough medical equipment to see them through....they both failed. Cuomo spent the money on solar panels instead. Try to breathe through one of those.

    Where were the ventilators bought by the Obama/Biden administration after H1N1? Oh that's right they used them and never replaced them.

    Every state is also resonsible for natural disasters in their state.

    However, when those disasters are declared by the president, the federal govenment supplies manpower, money, goods and services consistent with a plan that has been developed by FEMA and each state.

    NOW we have a declared national disaster and Trump tells the governors to POUND SAND!!

    In fact, he has agencies bidding against the governors for necessary equipment!!!

    We need a federal government that HELPS in time of national disaster - not one that makes things evern worse.

    Fascinating how now Medical equipment is an emergency, yet in 2015 you spent $750 million on a failed solar power scheme. So you want the rest of the country to bail you out after making a $750 million dollar mistake. You had the opportunity to buy 16,000 ventilators, but squandered it on "scandal-plagued “Buffalo Billion” solar power scheme". Why on earth should we care what you get from the Federal Government? Take it up with your Governor. It is Cuomo's fault.
