Yeah, it's a lesson you learn early on....never bring a black belt.....to a gun fight (and usually not to a knife fight either...depends on how they hold the knife)

Gotta get those cheat codes. I've got some friends that have given me 'that look' when I've mentioned my favorite game of all time was DOOM. :)

I've spent more time on the internet, and I'm reading books. I read "The Man Without a Face - The Unlikely Rise of Vladimir Putin" which was interesting. Now I'm reading "Sea Stories - My Life in Special Operations" by Adm. William McRaven.

Connected with an old friend who I served with in the Army on Facebook.

We've been helping out my mother and father-in-law who are in their 80s and live nearby.

I'm 64 and still employed, but I'm laid off for now. I hope to be back to work by June maybe, but it's not my decision to make. I really look forward to going back to work.

Clean shaven most of my life, I'm growing a "quarantine beard." Hopefully I don't look like Jeremiah Johnson by the time the quarantine is over.

And trying to keep up a sense of humor. Saw this on Facebook: PEOPLE.........You need to be careful, people are going crazy about being in lockdown. I’ve actually just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking a few beers, and all of us agreed things are getting worse.

Above all, staying positive. We ARE going to get through this thing.

By Assisted you must mean a Flipper Knife. But not all Flippers
are the same I have a *Buck Flipper which requires one to use his forefinger
and open the bolster thus easily flipping open the blade.
I Have a Brous Blades flipper { Turpin model } that opens regular.
Now Auto Knives { Not switchblades } are available depending on states
and whether you'll need a Conceal Carry Permit to own.
HK has some with D2 blade steel.A high quality steel.

    * this is a really cool knife because you hand to someone
{ even someone schooled in pocket knives } and they can't open.
Because the trick is to slide open the bolster first.Otherwise the
blade cannot release. It has a locking bolster which cannot be
noticed by merely looking real close.

Just a flick of the index finger opens it.

Depending on the model. My Brous Blades flipper is very thick
and heavy.Has a thick Carbon fibre handle. The blade is very
sturdy and the knife is considered a Semi-custom.
It takes some doing to open with the flip of a wrist.
A Flipper might also require a little wrist action along
with strong finger action.Whereas an auto is automatic.
Might also require a strong use of the slide button which
    engages.

The worst thing to do is becoming preoccupied with every
latest bit of Coronavirus updates and details.Going on as much as
    possible with one's regular duties { or chores } is a must.Maybe
taking up a hobby or just fixin' stuff around the Barn.
If you don't have a Barn. Then maybe make one.
If you don't wanna make a barn then make bread.
    Make somethin'.Maybe Hay.

Been thinking about coming off of the back of the house with a metal roof. Maybe out 12-15 ft. Dirt floor, just 4X4's set in concrete and frame it in. Need more work and storage room. We rent, otherwise I'd consider pouring a slab.

I'll look for the one that is most unique.

    I have a CRKT { *Carson Design } M4-02W a Flipper.
Kit Carson was a knife maker who { You aren't supposed to
know this } died a few years ago.He commit suicide.

I'd read about him, IIRC he designed the model I have. I have a few knives but that's my everday carry. I have some belt knives but it might scare the sheeple to strap on a Bowie in public, though legal.

When living as we are now it's important to mix things up so as to remain emotionally healthy. As you noted, exercise, studying, doing art work; whatever it takes.

Ha! I'm waaaaaaaaay past practicing the martial arts for self-defense. As you say, pepper spray or a collapsible baton or CC is the way to go. I train just for the fun and physical challenge of training.

That’s horrible! I’m deemed essential so not much has changed in my day to day, but if you need someone to help you with this new struggle, I can set some time aside and get hammered with you.
    Just a thought.

I usually get the 4 wheeler out once I get a good buzz going, so I figure if we're gonna be riding 4 wheelers drunk, we aught be shooting something.

I must have missed the memo that prostitution is essential employment. Obviously what you’re paying her is essential to her but not doing the rest of society any favors. Who else is she a sugar baby to?

I hear you. I'm in my early sixties myself. As for staying positive and occupied, the wife is spending quite a bit of time on Facebook communicating with relatives and friends.

I just sprayed the whole garden area with roundup. The goats ate it down and I am too old to consider buying a new tiller and letting it beat me to death. I use wood waste for mulch and never till. My soil is in pretty good shape. Gonna plant corn, all kinds of sunflowers, watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans, squash, onion, and some herbs and stuff. In three days I will plant some sweet corn. When soil temps reach 70 .... Watermelon and field peas. I will just take my modified hoe, and make a trench. Then use the wood chips over that. I plant my watermelon seed in rotten hay.
