That being accurately said, while we were at Home Depot Sunday AM to buy some home maintenance items (admittedly non essential), my wife did buy 2 plants... no sense making two trips...

    :)

Here's the open/closed list in my state

    https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/...losed/65-f65262cf-4b4a-433a-9c1a-f41046bab159

Frankly, a case can be made Home Depot isn't truly essential either, but it's more essential than some of the other things on that list. Beer, Wine and Liquor stores?? Laundromats?? Frankly, physical Banks?

I don't see Gun Retailers on the list of open in my state either, although indoor shooting ranges are closed.

I don't know where you get your information, but you are incorrect.

The garden section was very busy yesterday. I don't blame people for doing some landscaping in these times and don't blame HD for keeping that section open. Wealthy people don't do their own gardening.

Ordering ammo in CA is a crime unless it is delivered to an FFL and a background check is done. Hard to do if they are closed.

I appreciate you describing how liberal gun laws only help criminals.

Like any hardware store, you’re going to find a plethora of non essential items. But, let the flush mechanism on your toilet fail or your generator konk out or mice start raiding your pantry or a hornets nest suddenly appears on the eve over your front door. ......a gun store looks pretty feeble in comparison. I guarantee we can all get guns and ammo with the lax laws we have with gun stores closed, easier then getting facet replacement with all the hardware stores shut down.

Laundromats are certainly necessary. Keeping a home laundry is quite beyond the means of anyone living in many small and even some mid-size apartments.

Just because hardware stores carry a bunch of non essentials some seem oblivious to everything they do carry you can’t find in a fking gun shop.Next time our toilet fails or mice raid your pantry, just go to the gun store store and do what ?
And because the corner grocery store that sells food and is essential, also sells curettes, condoms and hairspray ? I’m not complaining.
I don’t care about CA. I dont live there. If anyone doesn’t like their gun restrictions badly enough, move. More then 2/3 of the states will abide you.
Guess you forgot. You can drive across state lines and buy all the guns and ammo you want....you do have car ? Nevada ?

If my faucet goes bad, I'll just shoot it... It's my right as a citizen...

I did notice a few interesting changes at HD... the primary entrance was setup with a chute for entry only... and manned... same on the exit side.... 1 way traffic only.

I also thought it interesting that on a pretty warm day, they were not using the outdoor checkouts, forcing people to wander back through the store to the regular and self checkouts. Would think the outdoor checkouts would potentially be safer??

It seems state dependent and how regulated they want to be. .

btw, I’ve felt like shooting a leaky facet ;)

I withdraw my point.... just seems to me they would be an obvious congregation point, as people have to sort of stick around for some time, don't they?

I guess I was thinking more about dry cleaners, but I guess that's more drop and run...

You are incorrect. It is a crime to buy guns and/or ammo and bring it into CA. The "If you don't like it, move!" argument is common, but does not address or justify government overreach. There are places you can move if you don't like gun rights, but I would never use that in a discussion.

Don't care about CA, justify government overreach all you want. Just don't claim that liberals are defenders of the constitution.

It’s a crime ? Wow, when was the last road block coming into California checking for guns....ha ha. It’s a crime in every state

Gov. overreach ? Take it up with the SC. If gun ownership controls your happiness, move to one like our state that has constitutional carry. But, there are more trees in one county then people in the whole state. This is why states have different gun laws,,,,,they have different needs. Move or stop complaining and run for office,

You know nothing about me. I have handguns up the kazoo, a carry permit and carry nearly every day, I did in my jobs too.
I’ve never had a problem with any gun law....I just obey them. It’s not hard.

None of this addresses the fact that liberals are not defenders of the constitution. CA is an example of that.

Guns do not control my happiness and I don't care where you stick yours.

It does address how delusional gun quackery is In the gun cultists minds. Liberals are much greater defenders of the constitution. We believe in science unlike conservatives.
I stick my guns anywhere I want, and I don’t whine and complain about it like a tinker bell.

Some on the Left have always had a fatal attraction for mass political murder. It never ends well for them.

More Guns = Power To the People.

Oh, you mean the one that says, we can have a militia if we want to play soldier ? We should all do it and get it out of our system. Then you don’t have to play cowboys and Indian

Human being with gun vs. violent criminal. Human being w/o gun vs. violent criminal.
Compare and contrast. I bet you can do the math in your head. ;-)

Cheap insults does not make for a strong argument. Here in the liberals perti-dish, (Los Angeles) no CCWs are issued to ordinary citizens. Only law enforcement, judges, and criminals carry guns here. CA also allows authorities to confiscate guns without due process. Liberals have also attacked free speech on campus. (Oddly enough, the student threatened with removal if he didn't go to the "Free speech zone" was only handing out copies of the constitution.)

You will not be able to support your claim that dems are defenders of the constitution, so I expect more emotional, cheap insults. I do enjoy a good meltdown, and you have not disappointed me so far.

Who are you to decide "absolute" rights?
Big macs probably kill more annually than guns.......but you are probably AOK with the local Mickey D's open 24/7 during the pandemic.
While you might feel a constant flow of Big Macs into your belly as "essential" that doesn't make it so, nor does you hoplophobia mean gun store availability to honest, law abiding people is not. How about we follow the Constitution?

    Imagine that.
