President Donald Trump's coronavirus response isn't going over well in Florida, according to a new poll of registered voters published by the University of North Florida on Monday.

While 45% of Florida voters said they approve of Trump's response to the pandemic and 53% disapprove, 85% of these voters approve of infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci's response effort. In contrast to Trump, Fauci, who's helping lead the federal government's handling of the coronavirus, has urged stricter social distancing guidelines and a more skeptical approach to potential drugs to treat the virus.

Meanwhile, just 41% of Florida voters said they trust the president to provide reliable information about the pandemic, while 58% said they don't trust him. More than double — 86% — said they trust Fauci a great deal or a fair amount.

The country is doing very badly when the people consider that the POTUS no longer has credibility in period of crisis.

Meanwhile, the Alt Right and a lot of Trumpsters are trying to smear Fauci by passing him off as a Deep State agent...

Your numbers are simply the number you "want".

Anyone can present opposing numbers proving the opposite of what you say.
Regardless of what side you are on, you are being fed misinformation routinely.

Wise people are aware of this. Others will create threads based on whatever information makes them excited....emotionally, with a total disregard for logic and complete lack of independent research to find facts to support their emotions.

Venezuelans were ecstatic when Chavez took over private interests because they were told it would lead to a Venezuelan "Utopia". They let their emotions rule their better judgment. Look at Venezuela today. That is a prime example of the consequences of reacting emotionally, rather than proceeding logically and armed with facts.

Stop the presses, people trust the medical expert to know more about this disease than the President. That's why Fauci is there ---- as a medical expert. I would also trust my mechanic to know more about fixing my vehicles than Trump, and I'd trust my lawn guy to know more about fertilizer or whatever than Trump, and and and.... so what?

Good job President Trump for having such a knowledgeable guy as Dr Fauci on your team, it looks like even some of the Democrats like him!

It makes perfect sense. People may not like what Fauci has to say, because it's usually bad news, but they trust that he's giving them real information. Trump could leverage that to his advantage since Fauci is part of his administration, but he seems to want to play the opposition figure instead. Leave the medical stuff to Fauci, including medicines and treatments.

What I really think we're seeing is not just approval for Fauci as a man with knowledge and expertise in the science involved, but also a disapproval of Trump's usual antics.

    My take:
I would be willing to bet that some of those folks who approve of Fauci are Trump supporters who aren't necessarily keen on Trump doing his usual nonsense shtick right now. They are happy to let him be Trump on other issues, but this one is too serious and they'd prefer to hear from someone truthful that they can trust. I think even many Trump supporters know they can't trust Trump, but they are happy with him when he's going in the same direction that they want to be going in too.

What the hell is this? Forum propaganda?

" 45% of Florida voters said they approve of Trump's response to the pandemic and 53% disapprove"
This means people don't think Trump is doing a good job with the pandemic.

"85% of these voters approve of infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci's response effort."
This means they would rather have Dr Fauci running the show.

Oh! Did we just learn how to avoid contracting a virus? You are supposed to wait for the government to tell you what to do, just like in Katrina. The government knows what's best for you. Turn off the brain and connect your tow hitch!

He's a medical expert. If his approval rating were lower than Trump's with regard to this pandemic, that would be an enormous red flag. Honestly, I'm relieved to see this in Florida (of all places).

That's right, keep believing the 'social scientist' Peter Navarro, and while you're at it, get some of thosehydroxychloroquine pills, you know -- as a prophylactic. Peter Navarro said it's safe.

Line one: pretends to care about the opinion of medical experts
Line two: drops all pretense that they care about the opinion of medical experts.

    Fun stuff.

The fact that you think you have to choose between medical fact and blind worship of the dear leader is the problem. Hopefully it is true that most Floridians are choosing facts over Trump cultism.

I'm also a native Floridian, and I also approve of our President.

Funny how the extreme leftists act like it's an either/or proposition, that we either support Trump or we support Fauci. Fauci is Trump's guy! I support them both. And trusting Fauci to know more about medicine than Trump is common sense, it doesn't mean I don't trust Trump.

It's amusing, but also tiring, watching the left try to spin everything into an anti-Trump narrative.

It is a shame that you want to bait with trolling while evading basic, objective facts by calling them "bait" and running desperately away. But no surprise. "You won't bait me" = "I can't address reality when it challenges my political faith."

Fauci said the other day that Trump always listens to him and asks lots and lots of questions. He also said that Trump has never gone against his advice. Not once.

So the leftists praise of Fauci and condemnation of Trump is ludicrous.

    It's a disease. [IMG]
