NYT is a highly respected newspaper...like I said, people need to understand the difference between entertainment/opinion and news facts...

Media is media no matter if it's in print or via the Internet. Most all local newspapers for months/years have been providing online information in parallel with printed and it works for some but not for others. IMO local areas must have some form of daily/weekly news and it will be a sad day as areas no longer have either source.

And, there are lots of things in printed news that does not exist in the online news...

    This is total BS!
Both CNN and NYT rank as the highest rated news outlets.
Neither news outlet has ever 'panicked people on purpose'!
Stop with your misinformation and untruths...

And what are those things? Hell, I can even find the coupons from the newspaper online.

I stand by what I said: There's nothing, and I mean nothing, that's in the local paper that I can't find online.

The more rural areas out here don't get a newspaper at all. They don't need it...

Can you imagine how much more knowledge, intelligence, and common sense the children could learn with the schools AND media being shut down?

I didn't say they are number 1?? I said they are among the highest rated news outlets.

Your attempt at humor denigrating the NYTimes name is what's laughable since it is ignorance.

Read a newspaper then read the online version...they will not be the same.

What percentage of people do not have Internet access?

I'm not advocating print media...I'm saying each local area needs some form of local news...

I find it odd CNN can come in at #3 when they don't even have a top 20 show.

You know it's bad when Snopes can't deny it.

You're the one who brought ratings up.

They will be similar enough to get the story across...

Don't know, don't care, as it has zero bearing on me being able to find things online...

    Okay...

Im sure those in the media making a lot of money would be happy to redistribute their wealth with those out of work!

If CNN, MSNBC, NPR, MaJones or HuffPo get any gov't money, FOX, Breitbart, InfoWars and WND should too.

I don't think any of them should, but fair is fair. The Govt doesn't get to play favorites.

Who cares about ratings?? Put a 44 DD news broadcaster on any news show and they will get top ratings. It's about reputation!

What a bunch of bovine excrement. You're citing the healthcare industry. obamacare forced the layoffs of thousands of people in school districts, state, local and city governments, and private industry. It also forced thousands of jobs to go from full time to part time with no benefits at all. When those people lost their jobs, perhaps you remember Pelosi saying those lucky people are getting more time to spend with their families.

You're a member of this board and don't remember that? Really?
