By limit, I mean how much money I'm willing to lose And yes, I never call, unless I'm at my personal limit.
No. There is No Limit Hold'em and Limit Hold'em. Limit Hold'em has a limit on how much you can raise per round. You said you raised until you hit your limit, I assumed this is what you meant.
Lol, man, that's a helluva strategy. *Slaps knee* Greenstein has a more calculated methodology you might try. 3x the big blind. I'm guessing Surfer dude might give ya some basics on calculating pot odds.
i think thats pretty much what I said when I said i suck at poker, can't read people or keep track of the cards...
Given that I am not working this week, I'm crushing online poker all week! Playing in a 5PM EST 50 dollar low-roll, playing two cash games right now. I love poker
I started a Pokerstars club on another forum. I'd be up for starting one here if people are interested. A monthly tournament. If enough of you can play for money we could make it fairly low to encourage people to play. If there aren't we could use play money and do it just for bragging rights. I now play a monthly game with my juggling friends and we use a video chat room to make it more fun. The site even keeps club standings.
Is this a private club event? What's your typical buy-in? Is it a sit-n-go? Just curious. I don't often join sit n go's in private club games because a lot of people tend to know each other, and some tend to talk on the phone while they are playing. It's a plague to online poker.
People suck. I'm on board for some online poker. We recently got a private VPN, so we're going to get back onto poker stars from another country.
Online poker isn't completely illegal. It's the regulation that states have a problem with that created new legislation from Black Friday. The area is so gray. I live in a state where it's not legal, but play legally through a loophole. There are many gray areas in the "laws" in each state. In Virginia, it's technically a misdemeanor to play in a raked game, but if the table is taxed it's perfectly legal.
Those standings are from my private club I set up for my juggling friends. We play a scheduled tournament first Friday of every month for very low stakes. We've been playing poker together for over 20 years at juggling conventions. Curious Always played in the club I set up in a previous political forum but it never really caught on due to low numbers of players. What I'm suggesting is setting one up for PF.com. We could do the same and have a monthly tournament. Once we get enough people interested we can decide what buy in to play for. I'd suggest a fairly low buy in to keep it fun. Maybe ten bucks or so. With the juggler's club we use a video conference service similar to Zoom which makes it a lot more fun. The Pokerstars home games app has cash games too. Hopefully there are enough PF.com poker players with access to real money online poker to get a club going. Not a great deal of interest so far though.
I might be down to play. I'm skeptical to play with strangers in private games just because of past experiences with cheaters that communicate in club games. I'll consider playing with you guys though
That's where the Zoom video conferencing could help out. Not only for the banter but also you could see if anyone was colluding on the phone. Not that I really think it would be an issue in a low stakes game of ten bucks or so.
