You can choose to look up how HCQ works against coronaviruses or choose to remain ignorant.

Personally, I've known how it works for a long time, at least a decade. What about you? I suspect you're not the type who comprehends any type of science, is that true?

I already did and there is no definitive peer reviewed consensus, everyone who has read up on it knows that by now. Again, YOU made claims, the burden of proof is still on YOU. I don't need to prove anything to you, I haven't made any claims other than that YOUR claims are unsupported and that doesn't require any proof other than a simple reading of your posts, which are self-evident.

No that would be you and I don't "suspect" it, I know it. YOU have already shown it's YOU who hasn't a clue about science, the scientific method or what peer reviewed clinical trials are all about. Someone who is well aware of a particular subject matter would readily post supporting material. All you post are empty words (mostly irrelevant labeling babble) that you expect others to accept as some kind of fact from thin air.

Just curious; did you read the article? The article actually says there have been some improvements in some cases though it is clearly trying to focus on the downside instead of helping people survive.

In one place, it mentions that the drug might help pneumonia but not the Wuhan Virus itself... Even if that's the case, wouldn't helping pneumonia help a person survive long enough for their own body to take care of the virus?

It is so shameful, beyond my imagination before this, that a person would argue against even the possibility of a low-risk drug being used to potentially save a life, literally giving support to drug decisions by politicians rather than by medical doctors, in order to support their anti-Trump agenda. How many lives lost because you give supported Cuomo and others in banning a drug that gets more and more evidence daily about it's life-saving results.

How do you sleep at night knowing your Trump Derangement Syndrome is killing people, literally killing people? When your own family gets the virus, will you still take that strong stance against the drug? For the sake of your loved ones, I hope not. You don't care about my loved ones but I do care about yours - since you don't care about them, either.

In fact, if it could have helped just 2% of NYC patients who died, that's 125 people as of this minute. That's 125 deaths, minimum, on on Cuomo's, Bowerbird's, and Bob0627's head - though not on their conscious since it doesn't appear that any of them have one.

I won't quote the rest because it's a bunch of horse manure.

Yet another one who doesn't understand the point of me posting the article. So I'll go over it yet again:

The OP uses the words "journalists acknowledge" (key word emphasized). So I posted an article where an EXPERT contradicts what "journalists" acknowledge. Get it yet?

Having said that, I'm all in favor of experimenting with anything that might work. But also having said that, extreme caution should be used especially where there is a desperate need to find treatment, cure or vaccine. And for sure let's pay attention to what EXPERTS have to say, not journalists.

Instead of looking up the mechanism of action you looked for consensus.

That proves that you are not the type who really comprehends science.

Science has absolutely nothing to do with consensus. Coronaviruses are not affected by popular opinions.

And the above proves you don't have a single clue about the scientific method. What do you think peer review is all about? The ability to be able to reproduce an experiment using the same data to try to achieve the same results is an essential part of science. No one in his/her right mind would ever accept someone's conclusion(s) without expert consensus. Not to mention I'm still waiting for you to support any one of your claims with anything other than hot air and childish emojis. That you haven't done so is yet another telltale sign that you have no clue.

CCP operatives are apparently all over the internet now. I doubt that any of the old timers here are involved in that kind of crap. Most of them just hate Trump, and for that reason find CCP disinformation too attractive to resist.

"Suspected Chinese operatives have stepped up their efforts in recent days, according to private messages shared with ProPublica, offering influential Chinese-speaking Twitter users cash for favorable posts.

These efforts appear to be aimed at disparate audiences outside the country. Most of the posts we found are in Chinese and appear aimed at influencing the millions of ethnic Chinese who live outside of China’s borders. Others are in English. The tweets are seen by few people living in China; the Great Firewall blocks Twitter from the Chinese internet, though tech-savvy domestic users find workarounds.

Twitter is well aware of China’s influence operations. In August and September, the platform announced that it had suspended more than 5,000 suspected Chinese state-controlled accounts and released data about them. Twitter also banned around 200,000 related accounts that had been created but were not yet very active."
PROPUBLICA, SERIES: CORONAVIRUS, How China Built a Twitter Propaganda Machine Then Let It Loose on Coronavirus, ProPublica analyzed thousands of fake and hijacked Twitter accounts to understand how covert Chinese propaganda spreads around the globe., By Jeff Kao, and Mia Shuang Li, March 26, 2020.

Your doctor is not prescribing an off schedule drug, and he/she is not turning you into an experimental drug trial.

Your doctor is carefully diagnosing your problem and then prescribing a drug that has been seriously tested for use for those with that diagnosis and for which known side affects, other health issues you have and other medications you are taking appear not to be problematic.

There are several reasons that calling back is important.

Please cite a case of someone suggesting his restricting travel from China was xenophobic.

That was something that was being strongly called for BEFORE Trump took action.

The idea that the president should be promoting the use of an experimental drug is just plain insanity. That is PURELY and TOTALLY a decision of medical science.

I'm fine with him projecting that we have a number of treatment candidates - news of our progress.

But, for him to pick one of those candidates and promoting its immediate use without the backing of medical science is just GROSSLY irresponsible.

In 1898? Is that a joke? At about the same time Roentgen discovered x-rays by repeatedly firing them through his hand and arm. Needless to say it wasn't a wise decision. So much for the beginnings of modern science. What possible relevance does it have to this discussion?

A drug being used off label does NOT equate to it being an experimental drug trial. A drug being used off label is in fact quite common. I used to sell a blockbuster drug (over $1Billion in annual sales) that literally 80% of its use was off label. This is not an uncommon situation in the slightest. People that are getting indignant about off label prescribing do not know that of which they speak.

No one here has made any claim about the efficacy of the drugs. They've quoted, linked, discussed, the claims made by patients and medical experts who prescribed it. The only ones acting, rather than opining, politically or without experience or training, are those who want to see more deaths so they can try to lay them at Trump's feet. Yes, you'll find some doctors who say not to use the drugs; the TDS runs deep in some doctors.

As long as there's a chance it saves lives and the choice is between doctor and patient, who the hell are you, or Governor Cuomo (NY), or Governor Whitmer (MI), or Governor Sisolak (NV) to tell doctors that they can't prescribe a drug or patients that they can't take what their doctors prescribe?

Do you want more proof that these governors actually, literally, really, want more dead?

Nevada Governor Found Hoarding Hydroxychloroquine After Banning Drug

He clearly believes that the drug has potential but banned it anyway - to hurt Trump....Those who ban or support banning potentially helpful medications are all, ALL, despicable human beings.

OK - I'll accept that I overstepped there.

My central point is that Trump should not be promoting the use of a specific drug, especially when it is just one of nearly 2 dozen drugs being tested for the disease and with no test results available.

Doctors have access to the full information available without Trump telling the public that there is one effective treatement that everyone should be using.

Really? Aspirin was, and really still is, a miracle drug. It was discovered by watching monkeys eat leaves... No double-blind, peer-reviewed, studies required. No one had to die to be on the placebo side of a test.

I haven't heard anyone claim that it couldn't possibly be a treatment. No one. Anywhere. The complaint "journalists" (and all scientifically literate people) had was that it is unproven, and that we should rely on evidence, not just anecdotes.

Bull. Doctors are fully aware of progress on finding treatments without Trump stating that everyone should be using one of the candidates.

And, the result has been hording, which has made others who desperately need this drug to be unable to fill their prescriptions.
