Yet there is no connection in the budgeting in terms of the solar power system and the ventilators, is there?

Gov. Andrew Cuomo decided to spend the taxpayers money on solar panels instead of ventilators, it's not that complicated.

I think Trump should have bought ventilators instead of giving tax cuts to the rich. There, you have your same silly argument.

It actually was the legislature, Professor Peabody. You need to give far more information for your assertion.

We know now that our President Trump should have bought many more ventilators, gloves, gowns, etc., than give a tax cut to the wealthy.

For NY? Why? They spent their money on solar panels, so now they need ventilators, ask Obama why he didn't restock the national supply after H1N1 and Ebola. NY's failures aren't an emergency when they blew their money on solar instead of ventilators.

Why when it's the state's responsibility?

The ventilator issue is yet another fake news fabrication. Ventilators are deadly. Put a number of perfectly healthy people on a ventilator and not a non-trivial number of them will die. Far more than die from prescribed doses of hydroxychloroquine. And in this disease, about 80% of the folks that end up on a ventilator, die.

While Cuomo was trying to hoard ventilators and lying about how many Trump sent him, the actual data was being tracked to determine how many he would actually need. While he was demanding 40,000 ventilators, at the NY peak, which is tomorrow, he will need 5,664 ventilators, and he has them.

Wouldn't it have had to go through the NY Legislature? You make it sound as if Cuomo could just buy them.

Why should the Federal Government pick up the slack for NY Government that decided to spend $750 million on solar when they were offered a deal on ventilators to make up their shortfall? That's not the Federal Government's problem, it's the New York's Government's.

    New York State Senate.

I doubt Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) would have much of a problem with getting the ventilator purchase through the State's Democrat controlled Legislature.

Yeah, but this assumes that he would've had everyone from his party on his side. I guess if there was a vote which he lost then there would be a record of it, but if Cuomo didn't even promote the idea, then he could be criticised, depending on whether or not people think that buying that many supplies for a rare, rainy day would've been justified.

The Democrats fall in lock step with what their leaders want or they aren't around long.
