I thought it was pretty effective. "Lock her up" and all that?

Seriously though, there's a pandemic going on. Of course the President is relevant to that, and esp. what he says and the policies he's promoting. What do you expect people to do here? Ignore Trump's craziness about miracle cures and quick vaccines? The President needs to be held accountable for what he says.

Just stop. Trump can say Hi and you'd whine and complain he didn't say Hello instead. It's absolute insanity.

It's absolute insanity to call out this in a thread about vaccines?

"We had a great meeting today with a lot of the great companies, and they're going to have vaccines I think relatively soon. And they're going to have something that makes you better, and that's going to actually take place we think even sooner."

There are two glaring issues here: A) what does "relatively soon" mean and what does "even sooner" mean? Presidents need to communicate clearly, ESP. IN A NATIONAL CRISIS. B) The President should NOT be giving people the impression we're going to have a vaccine "relatively soon". We're not.

It's insane to point that out in this thread? No, it's not. What I just said is a valid criticism.

What are your medical credentials? Are you an infectious disease specialist?

Please stop spouting nonsense. This is a serious pandemic. Your fantasy vaccine idea is not helping anyone.

Have you ever worked somewhere where you were a part of a project that designs something?
Usually, these projects start with one vision. Then with time the vision transforms and the final result might not even resemble what was envisioned originally.
It’s possible that during these meetings Trump is paying more attention at things that can address the issue sooner than later - that’s why he keeps talking about anti-malaria drugs. It doesn’t mean this is the only thing the federal government is working on. In fact, it’s probably one of 10 or 20 things they are working on, but if anti-malaria drug actually works it will be the quickest way to address the crisis as it gives you the ability to use existing solutions to current problem.

Now, a serious question to you. Can you drop your partisan BS and tell me, why do you have an issue with national leader trying to give us optimistic outlook? Would you prefer Trump to run around and cry the end of the world? Why can’t you agree that what trump says is not really a bad thing?

All you need to do is compare Trump to someone actually responsible, like Cuomo or Dr. Fouci. There's cautious optimism, and then there's talking out your ass. Trump doesn't know the difference. That's a problem. In a time of crisis, that's a very big problem.

Exactly, he could've left the Trump pictures and comments out and actually made a useful post but then it wouldn't have gotten the kneejerk reactions either. It's like a virtual strip dance club.

There's also generating problems for no real reason and having people die, when treatments could have been done but we didn't do it because that'd mean Orange Bad Man was correct.

The whole medicine thing is a total debacle for Democrats(if they had any self-introspection) because when push came to shove on their greatest promise: The promise of being pro-choice, the promise of patient-doctor confidentality. Democrats chose to abandon that principle, that promise.

It was one thing when Democrats aligned with neoconservatives to destroy the tea party. But now this, shows that Democrats have no principles or values. All they have is the interest of the moment. Which technically would be "okay" if they chose correctly all or even most of the time.

Tragically though, they don't. So it's good to have a set of principles and not go renegade on them when they face a tough problem.

Democrats have abandoned being pro-choice? Eh, what?

    Wait, what?

    Word salad.

You're pretending there wasn't this hoopla(and the restriction that was in Michigan, before our Rasputin Governor was like "crap, we really needed this."). Democrats had the opportunity to let patients and doctors deal with COVID-19. They chose not to. They chose to interject in a health crisis, and as a result are no different than Republicans.

Democrats do not respect choice. They are pro-choice with a caveat that they can criticize or prohibit choices as they choose.

You are comparing people of different function - Cuomo and Trump have different powers.
POTUS and governors have different “tools” available to them. Any doctor, not just Fauci, think that everything should be stopped and we should concentrate 100% of resources fighting the virus. But you can also ask any economist who will tell you that they believe the economy is a higher priority if one were to consider real mortality rate. There are many smart people out there making very valid points. You just choose to be partisan and ignore other opinions.

You don't need a "function" to not stay stupid ****.

This can't possibly be accurate since Trump has mentioned nothing from the beginning except chloroquine. Or, perhaps he's been continually talking about vaccines and other potentially helpful therapies. Trump haters can't seem to make up their mind - except that they hate Trump.

Wow! You should patent that method of creating vaccines; before you know it, you'll be worth...

    NOTHING.

Face it, there is absolutely nothing Trump could do that you would approve of. If he walked on water you'd start a thread complaining he can't swim.

Obviously, your veneration of your messiah prevents you from honestly confronting the documented facts that I have provided, and you cannot support your fake claims with credible evidence as requested, so you whine about my low regard for Trump.

Yes, I recognize that he is a pathetic person, but I deal in facts.

All you post are hate Trump rants. Do us the favor by not lying about your position.
A vaccine will be found and if it is like most other vaccines, it will be only partially effective.
Stop complaining and do something for your community. I volunteered as a RSO at a local outdoor gun range this morning.

We must have attended different high schools. It isn't that simple.

A vaccine is a dose of already inert, or "dead," virus cells. You can't just have someone spit into a jar, then add water and drink it down. Aside from that being live virus (not a good idea to ingest), if it survives your digestive system, seems like it would involve your liver, and I'm not sure what would suffer the most: the virus or the liver? They give us vaccines in the form of injections for good reason.

The lack of detailed thinking from the right is astounding.

Run it through UV light, hydroxychloroquine, alcohol to kill it first then.
