I have yet to see his name on a thread at PF. Now that Sanders is gone, this is the progressive voice for the far left in 2020 and nobody is talking here, let alone media. He is quite the character, far more interesting than Jill Stein. "Dario David Hunter (born April 21, 1983),[1] also known as Yisroel Hunter,[1] is an American lawyer, rabbi, educator, and politician.[2][3][3] He is the first Muslim-born man to be ordained as a rabbi "Background[edit] Hunter is openly gay and was raised by his Iranian Muslim father and African American mother in Newark and Jersey City in New Jersey.[5] A former environmental attorney in Israel, congregational rabbi in Youngstown, Ohio and campus rabbi at the College of Wooster, he currently lives in Los Angeles, California... On February 18, 2019, Hunter officially announced his candidacy for the Green Party nomination during an event held in Pittsburgh.[24] The New Republic referred to Hunter as "as diverse as candidates come..."[25] Hunter stated to that publication, “If we want to cut through the lack of attention given [to Greens], we need someone who has a loud and clear voice and a tough skin." “It takes a tough skin to be an openly gay black son-of-an immigrant Jewish rabbi.”[25] MTV.com highlighted his platform's inclusion of single-payer healthcare for all and "plans to transition the United States to renewable energy entirely." [26] Well lets listen and learn. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dario_Hunter
Hunter is gay, well there you go, another liberal box checked, muslim, check, but his not being a woman could be a problem for the progressives. Well, can't have it all can you.
The Guy won't move the needle one bit. There is not a chance that he will suck Dem. Votes like Dr. Jill. That said, I am sure that Trump is bankrolling him hoping that he can siphon off some Dem. Votes. The guy won't move the needle. Voting for him is a Wasted Vote.
No He's was born and raised Muslim , but converted to Judaism. He was ordained as a Rabbi in 2012. His political views on Israel also changed from being decidedly pro Israel, to joining the Jewish Voice for Peace Movement, supporting divestment and sanctions against Israel. He says he was fired from Ohev Tzedek-Shaarei Torah synagogue when he decided to run for President and he Anti Israeli statements were published in the local paper.
I was thinking about voting for the green party just to try and help them get to 5% for federal funding, since I live in a bright red state my vote is largely wasted anyway. Maybe not.
not a bad idea. I live in oregon. Biden does not need my vote and the green party does! I will give it thought.
On the other hand, it's possible that among the woke, not voting for him is de facto proof of racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, and anti-semitism.
You don't have to hate a category of people to decide never to vote for them for President, like men over 73 years, 9 months.
Looks like he may have to battle with another wacko Jessie Ventura who indicated he may look at that spot.
