You can make a homemade mask if you can't get one. Pretty simple. Go on YouTube to see a video on how to do so. If you don't have a bandana cut up an old cotton shirt to the right size. You should wear one to protect other people from you and yourself from others. Many people are asymptomatic.

How about the New York Times?

“New York City, already a world epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, sharply increased its death toll by more than 3,700 victims on Tuesday, after officials said they were now including people who had never tested positive for the virus but were presumed to have died of it.

The new figures, released by the city’s Health Department, drove up the number of people killed in New York City to more than 10,000, and appeared to increase the overall United States death count by 17 percent to more than 26,000.”

Yea...that means people found dead at home who had symptoms and the like.

They find a nursing home with 44 dead bodies and everyone has the bug...yea...they likely died from it

They don't have enough tests for hospitalized patients and doctors/nurses....they ain't gonna waste em on those that are dead.

Yes it’s the same rights that are being eroded from me and everyone else in the name of security. The difference between you and I is that I think this is stupid, overblown hysteria.

I'm seriously considering wearing my Darth Vader helmet and cape to Stater Brothers. My wife keeps telling me no, but one day ...!

I bought some designer masks on Etsy a few days ago. I'm also thinking about buying a plague mask:

There are lots of things I haven't voiced an opinion about on this site. I am for opening up businesses. So your assumptions have been categorically wrong

A couple of months ago they were telling people not to wear masks because it doesn't help. I magine how much good a bandana will do. I'm not getting close to anybody and almost nobody around here has the virus. The nearest hospital is laying off people because they can't do elective surgery. Covid is simply not an issue here. You must live in a city.

    Thanks!

I actually DID wear my WWII or whatever it was gas mask to the store early on. It fogs up quickly but I thought it was kinda cool.

I bought that thing a dozen years ago at an army surplus store for some history lesson I was doing at the time - I thought heck, I've held onto that thing since then, why not get some use out of it?

Don't know if it really helps or not, but I see no reason to make people uncomfortable just so I can prove a point, so I wear one.

If "everyone has the bug" they were tested for it. The truth is, NYC, as well as several other locals, are submitting deaths that either were never tested or tested negative. And you can test for COVID-19 in an autopsy if it wasn't done before death. This is just fraud.

Sorry not a choice you get to make for other people.... individual liberty trumps public health.

Agree. We have people here who go to the supermarket, home improvement store, or other 'essential' businesses, and they don't wear masks. We are thinking they don't believe they have the virus because they don't have symptoms, yet people can be asymptomatic and not have or display symptoms. These people also seem to think because we live in an area where the problem is not severe, they can't get it. They don't seem to understand that it is wearing masks and social distancing that is keeping the problem from getting severe here. Our metro area has almost 800,000 people. It is wearing masks, closing down schools and non-essential businesses, and practicing social distancing that has kept our cases of and deaths from Covid 19 down.

People who don't wear masks when in public places are placing themselves and others at risk, unnecessary risk.

No it doesn't. You don't get to put other people at risk. It's like drunk driving. You don't get to have the 'individual liberty' to drink and drive. Would you want everybody out there drinking and driving and putting you at risk? That's what you do when you are out in public places and not wearing a mask. It is not a matter of your 'rights.' This virus is extraordinarily contagious. Man up and wear a mask.

At this time, 66,418 Americans have died of this virus over the course of a couple of months. That is nearly 10,000 more than died during the Vietnam war which lasted 8 years.

Drunk-driving crashes claim more than 10,000 lives per year yet we have laws against drunk driving. The Coronavirus has claimed over 66,000 lives in a couple of months: there should be laws against not wearing face masks. It isn't a crazy idea to wear one: it's sensible.

Well, if the federal government will give them free money for each COVID patient, it certainly promotes the practice of labeling more patients as COVID, doesn't it? Funny how increasing the numbers of people who die from the Wu-flu does not reflect poorly on the Mayor of NYC or the governor.

Curious, since it was President Trump who pleaded with Americans not to horde.

So it seems more likely that this woman is a TDS Trump hater, who knew she was acting like an *******, so she tried to pretend she was a Trump supporter.

Trump urges no hoarding as coronavirus panic strains grocery stores

    Trump:
“You don’t have to buy so much. Take it easy. Just relax.”

"We have no shortages, other than people are buying anywhere from three to five times what they would normally buy. There's no need for anybody in the country to hoard essential food supplies."

i never said it was a crazy idea to wear a mask. I agree it's sensible.. IF you live in an area where the virus is present in significant amounts. I oppose all new laws as i don't believe laws solve problems.

and no public health does not trump individual liberty.. if it did abortion would be illegal as it is one of the largest sources of human death in America. Individual liberty clearly trumps public health there. Man up and stay home if your afraid of getting sick

Abortion is another issue, but it is definitely NOT 'one of the largest sources of human death in America.' A fetus is not a human being. God aborts them nearly as often as doctors do. "Overall, every year, U.S. women are currently averaging 2.0 live births, 0.7 induced abortions, and 0.5 miscarriages and stillbirths, or a total of 3.2 pregnancies.
