Me not wanting to pay for others lack of caution isn’t me being against them —!it is me not wanting to reward them for bad decisions.

Seeing that we don’t technically subsidize anyone with direct healthcare I guess it is a moot point.

Most of those cases and deaths are in blue states. Blue states who early made statements about the virus not being that dangerous. If it weren't for the blue states, we would have among the lowest number of cases per capita in the world.

 

You really think that a good part of your taxes go to subsidizing the poor? I took the trouble of searching for the evidence from both left and right views.the list is pretty comprehensive IE defense, infrastructure etc,etc but absolutely nothing on subsidizing the 40 million poor. So rest easy friend unless you pay large sums to charity you're contribution in tax the poor is a big round Zero.

 

You need to work on your math. Tax money is being used to send out checks to virtually everyone. The amount being paid out exceeds the tax being taken in by the government. Virtually every cent I pay in income tax is being sent out in subsidy checks.

Additionally, just after the first of the year I go through a long list of charities and contribute to a dozen or so.

And yet you object to subsidizing the poor through your taxes ? your not making sense, Any good government looks after its citizens, all its citizens.Its not there for the super rich 2 % leaving the needy who have to go carp in hand to a charity for help. Have a nice day.
