Strange that it's mostly Democrats who want to continue the lockdown destroying our economy...

No. Opinions have reasons to back them up. You have a blind guess because you haven’t stated why it’s not going to have a meaningful effect.

I hope so too! You see these greedy business leaders need to realize they can’t survive in a free market and should just give in to companies that can survive the economic downturn. It’s the free market at work! Bad businesses crumble and good businesses rise to the top. Come on! Don’t you advocate for the free market? Aren’t you the kind of person who advocates for people to pull themselves up by their boot straps?

Like when you pulled 3 million out of your butt and claimed effects that you have no ability substantiate?

    You made the claim.
He doesnt have to prove you wrong.
You have to prove you right.

Yeah. More or less. Of course ignoring the whole medical debt section you might have a point otherwise.

I have to show that when people don’t buy as much stuff the price of goods decrease? That we already produce too much stuff? That if people get laid off from jobs that are no longer needed they don’t contribute to the economy while they are retrained in skills that are needed? Literally the lessons of pandemics pass?

I’ll be honest, I assumed that was a basic starting premise.

Yes they are. All the time. Its called quarantine. It sounds like you’re making excuses for poor business decisions made by business leaders. Maybe if they stopped eating so much avocado toast and got a second job they would know the value of hard work.

And what happens when family takes on debt to pay off the medical bills?

It’s to Trump’s benefit to gain control of this pandemic, WTF? He’s doing everything he can to sweep it under the rug and pretend it doesn’t exist.

Until we gain control of the virus the economy is going to suck. That’s the reality punching us in the face. You don’t throw your hands up and surrender. You fight.

    We’ve found our lazy wussy’s.

1% of the population is a big number but not a very big percentage of the total. If you want to know what is really hurting the economy it is shutting down businesses. Over time that will completely destroy the economy. We won't see a 1% death rate regardless of what the experts say. They are motivated to miss on the high side, not the low side.

1% is the low side. Now you're right, 1% isn't a big number. That's why I mentioned the American Civil war that killed 2% of the US's population. Specifically pre war if I'm remembering correctly. Or we can look at this another way. How many people do you think are migrants? In the entire world? Legal and undocumented? Temp or permanent? It's about 3% of the entire world's population is an immigrant. How many people are LGBT in the US? 5%. How many are trans? Less than 1%. Those are a lot of people, and all those lives are significant to the economy.

Nope - not just American Democrats. Unless, of course, all doctors are democrats. The medical communities in countries around the world are warning that a rushed return to 'normalcy' could be disastrous.

It's not all about Orangemanbad. There are some other yuge factors at play.

    1. A large portion of Democrat states (and surprise, surprise! the hardest hits ones! but that's just a coincidence ;) ) are in perilous fiscal shape due to decades of public and official graft, overpay and underwork, overpension, etc. COVID has been a GODSEND for these states (cities) as a deflection, "See we weren't going to go under and get caught, Tone, until this COVID came along and our fluffed stats made us shut down! Get Silvio working on how to maximize bailout money... that we can ALSO corrupt later!... he's down at the Bing."

    2. There is lots of ****ery in the Obama Administration that needs covering up and is getting perilously close to DOJ action. Surprise! Surprise! We need to close the economy and "look a squirrel" to that. Guess who's playing along? Yep, the big Soprano States.

    3. The DNC campaign and candidate are in a shambles, no one would deny that. So anything we do to streeeettttcchhh the Viral Moral Panic out in time could get us closer and closer to much-needed ballot fraud or rationalize screwing Bernie AGAIN somehow when the time comes. Sorry, orderly elections and selection of a DNC candidate are not part of the "new normal." Get used to Democrat Conventions being a "well we may stick to our own rules... right up until the point they aren't giving us a sure win." Get used to DNC selection of POTUS candidates being a rather "fluid" process going forward that resembles an on the spot weather vane/straw poll process more than anything.

So these and other factors formed a confluence that really helped Democrats out, which is why all the shilling and MSM lying.

The state of our economy is a direct reflection of the Federal Government’s response to the pandemic. Which has been pathetic and put us behind the eight ball.

He’s not making a good impression with his lack of focus.

We don't know that. I would say it is on the high side by a bunch and my guess is every bit as valid as anyone else's guess. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

    5 minutes later:
"The UN's trade and development agency says the slowdown in the global economy caused by the coronavirus outbreak is likely to cost at least $1 trillion."
    https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020...ost-economy-2020-un-trade-economics-pandemic/

    I'm sure you did.

Who will pay the costs if she can't?

Right, so we don't listen to random posters on the internet and turn to experts. The experts are saying between 1-3%.

Grown men shouldn't be whining like that. Take some responsibility for the criminal that you worship.

Of course Democrats support the lockdown. After all, we're not delusional death-cultists. Viruses don't pay any attention to Trump cult propaganda, so we know what the effects of removing the lockdown will be, just as we know what the effects of gravity are if you walk off a bridge.

Have you decided what excuse you're going to use to explain away the skyrocketing death rates in the areas with lockdowns? How do you plan to blame that on Democrats?

So, you're pushing fake rape accusations purely for political gain. How very Stalinist of you, pushing the big lie tactic. You'd all best hope the atheists are right, or your afterlives will be very toasty indeed. I mean, you're actually pushing fake rape stories as a way of running cover for Trump's self-admitted sexual assaults. It's hard to see how any human could get lower than that, but I'm sure you'll show us soon.

We're just obviously better people than Trump cultists. Admittedly, that's a very low bar to get over, so it's nothing to brag about. It's the equivalent of saying "I don't kick puppies".

Anyways, good luck with the butthurt. You tried running on pure butthurt in 2018, and it didn't work out so well, so you're trying again. Bless your little hearts.
