    News of the sickness first made headlines in Madrid in late-May 1918, and coverage only increased after the Spanish King Alfonso XIII came down with a nasty case a week later. Since nations undergoing a media blackout could only read in depth accounts from Spanish news sources, they naturally assumed that the country was the pandemic’s ground zero. The Spanish, meanwhile, believed the virus had spread to them from France, so they took to calling it the “French Flu.”

    unlike the early 1800's, we have "slightly better" technology and transportation today, so unlike the 1800's, we are FAR more capable of determining the origins of a pandemic.

    The CCP Virus or Chinese Communist party Virus is accurate.

    However, if, for unknown reasons, your loyalty is to China, you will likely see it otherwise.

    No, my point is and always has been. Cuomo let US college students return to N.Y. President Trump let US citizens return to the West Coast. If you criticize one you need to criticize both to be consistent.

    No clue what that means, but calling something by a name it isn't is pretty childish. It's along the lines of Eddie Spaghetti and other such silly names kids in the 2nd grade call each other. You can call it poopy pants, if you want, but nobody will take you seriously.

    Where do you get outrage. I was stating a fact. Cuomo was criticized for allowing US college students into New York that is only slightly different than The President letting US citizens in from China. I passed no judgement. However I will ask why is it Cuomo's fault that Americans came into New Your after Italy became a hot spot? It is the president who has the power to stop access to the US not the mayor of New York.

    LOL, they did a whole piece about this on NPR. It’s PC that influenced the change from naming the region.

    Right...but again he said the strains of the virus entered his state from Europe. He never said Coronavirus itself is from Italy.

    by that logic, covid 19 no longer is the threat, so why are we still locked down due to the covid 19? the newer strains are the new infections, ergo the new deaths are not from covid 19...
