Well, now that we are at the "disgusts me" accusation stage: It disgusts me that rightists are ready to throw 100,000s seniors under the bus, because they were on their last leg anyway, to insure Trump's reelection success.

You should go ask Cuomo about how NOT to treat seniors. Compare that to FL where we have a lot more and didn’t literally shove sick people in with other sick people. But you probably don’t know Cuomo did that.

Please point me to anyone who is doing that. I've only seen one place where bad decisions were made with respect to seniors and that was NY

And looking at facts, seniors are more at risk of effects of covid however they are still out and about shopping, dining, getting take out, hanging out in groups. All of this right here in "death's waiting room FL"

So, I gather your point is punish those who can move about because the elderly might get infected. It is political with you and is absolutely disgusting

actually, as more tests are being conducted, more will test positive. But, that is not the measuring stick to you use because the super majority show no effects. Even right here in FL where testing is beg conducted in all senior care facilities, the majority of positives are asymptomatic. Imagine that, the most vulnerable, the elderly and infirmed are asymptomatic.

Yes, people have died from covid much like people die from various viruses as well as bacteria, but the over-reach of govt must end

Some people are quite frightened by this pandemic. Is it necessary that you say they are acting like a clown by taking precautions? Just as you are free to do what makes you feel empowered, so are they. And they certainly don't need you making fun of them for it.

refusing to see people is ridiculous. Absolutely, some people are scared to death; why do you think that is? Do you think it's because they've been fed actual data?

    I agree.

"Positive" results aren't really the count that matters, it's the DEATHS and perhaps the HOSPITALIZATIONS that matter.

All the "positives" do, when they are mild or asymptomatic, is show us COVID is not the death sentence the left wants it to be.

"This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads," is probably true based upon logic and statistics probably from asking people, but "It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes," emphasis on "may" is probably the bureaucrats; "may be," should be "is," if it is possible, and it is possible. Simply I go back to the previous CDC fiasco of "no reported case," being politically correct science, not based upon any science whatsoever but purely statistics, during early AIDS.

Big problem is so many people are in a hurry to evolve the virus with as many hosts as possible, looking for any reason to be unwashed (there mind is already there) and not wear a mask... If the statistics show the virus evolves and loses bits of RNA more often than gains them, that is becomes less deadly, they will jump on it refusing to accept it can also gain bits, or with the right number of hosts make those drugs touted as effective no longer effective.

Some companies will not hire if you wear a beard. If they can't wear a mask and wash their hands, I say let them rot at home without any unemployment checks. All for getting people back to work; washing hands and with masks; if they don't want it, let the ROT.

I blame it on Fauci because he appears as a Pied Piper of Fear IMO. I know Fauci is not alone in advancing the agenda.

I feel exactly the same way. Seems like there is a significant amount of people who are looking for any reason to downplay the need to respond to COVID. Political alignment playing no small part but also I suspect some people just prefer to have poor hygiene. As if it were an effort thing and they just cant must the strength to cover their mouth or wash their hands for longer than 2 seconds, basically the germ equivalent to those people who cant walk their shopping carts an extra 10 feet to the collection stalls and so they just prop them up on the curb.

We stacked bodies in fridge trailers because our morgues didn't have room. Small county hospitals in nearly every rural area in the east put out warnings that they simply couldn't handle more than a tiny handful of ICU patients. The generation that raised and provided for most of us is at extreme risk of dying a debilitating death and the generation most of us are caring for now is facing a brand new covid-related disease. This virus was absolutely, ABSOLUTELY, a threat - its why China was tinkering around with it in the first place, they knew, they fkin knew.

But ya we have to open up. Only, COVID has proven that Americans are quite simply disgusting. We are and we need to accept that. Look how fast COVID spread, look how many got it (including the scores of asymptomatic people). We're gross and our hygiene sucks and that has to change. We have to earn back our first world status by improving some basic things about how we live because this wont be the last pandemic we face. China wont change, they going to keep screwing around with things they don't understand and cant manage and when something goes wrong they'll willingly let the world go down just to stay on equal footing because that's what communism is essentially about - and that's to say nothing about how the terrorists of the world will now be redoubling their efforts in viral warfare because of how devastating COVID was.

So we need to reopen with a new attitude. Social distancing needs to become a part of our life. Business should convert to a low-touch/no-touch operation whenever reasonable (more self-checkout). Working from home needs to become an option and businesses that offer it should receive tax credits. Mask usage needs to be a seasonal thing and people should regard wearing them as a badge of honor whilst shunning those who don't and the law needs to allow any place of business to ban people who wont wear them if they want to. If we can improve on our disgusting lifestyles then I don't see why we couldn't weather a virus like this without shutting down.

They where 1200 yesterday and are 728 today, plus you need to keep in mind testing is way up and more testing equals more cases.

None the less the numbers are only 50% of what they where during the outbreak with considerable less testing.

Or rather, the dude that can do no wrong. He tried to protest this characterization of himself, but with each and every media(multiple) media interviews that he does, the dude has been seen like a million times more than Mueller, so that comparison is inaccurate.

He's held up as the gospel on COVID-19, but he hasn't said a single thing no one else has said.

FLGOV DeSantis explained the huge 1200 spike as being the result of a batch that had built up over the last couple of days. But even if we artificially distributed the batch results by adding them to the past couple of day's results we still have a substantial increase. And I don't much care for using the 'more testing = more cases' thing as a defense (not saying that's what you're doing but some use it that way) because we need to be testing as many people as possible not only to gauge whether or not this herd immunity concept is working but also to demonstrate how infectious this virus really is.

A lot of that is the result of the COVID-19 strike force which has been going county by county doing testing in nursing homes.

And it's not a substantial increase compared to the numbers when the virus broke out, as such while the numbers are higher than a few days ago they are still way down which is why the state is in phase one and soon will move to phase two.

You may not like it, but more testing will result in more cases that would have not been reported, because the people being tested had no symptoms.

The same can be said for any flu virus.

Think you misunderstood. I want more testing. I just don't like the erroneous circular use I'm describing. Like for example; the gov says our numbers are good lets re-open > more testing shows more infections > gov says well thats cause we tested more (implying things are still good). I mean of course you'll find more if you test more because this virus is everywhere. But if these people want to use testing figures as their foundation for re-opening then they cant then change their attitude to be dismissive of the very thing they were using as justification.

Actually, every state in the Mid-Atlantic belt(and more broadly, Democratic Governors) have adapted the Cuomo measures. Most outrageously here in Pennsylvania, while they gave those shoving covid-19 patient into nursing home orders, the pa health secretary pulled her grandmother out of a nursing home!

The Wolf Administration continues to prove that it has failed the commonwealth, and moreover has become as brutalistic as Illinois and as Michigan.

The number they are looking at and what counts is the number of positives, as long as that number is falling then reopening makes sense, in Florida that number for the past six weeks has been 8% and falling.

Florida has also ramped up testing in general, so it stands to reason we'll have more positive cases. But what matters isn't so much how many positive cases, but how many hospitalizations, and especially how many deaths. Positive cases are sort of a nothingburger unless we see a spike in hospitalizations and deaths.

All the "positives" do, when they are mild or asymptomatic, is affirm that COVID is not the death sentence the left wants it to be.

But the lefties love to cheer on anything COVID, so they'll stay glued to their computers wearing their masks and looking for increased case #'s, with no real understanding of any of it.

If that graph is 6 weeks with a week start date of 4/1 then its a 9 days behind which would be missing the spike we're now seeing. A spike which if becomes a trend would correlate directly with a post-reopen incubation period for new infections; ie if it becomes a trend then the re-open would have proven to had produced more cases.

Which is nice, we surely want to see the percentage of positives decrease regardless, but the re-opening argument in Florida thus far has been based on infection count. Whenever I heard Gov DeSantis or comm director Ferre talk it was always infection count; number of new cases - which has increased just recently and so the question is was it a spike or is it a trend. Has there be a shift recently, are they now pushing the testing ratios?
