    And then you double down.

    Interesting strategy.

    My point stands, cheers

And then you refuse to cite even one example of an incorrect statement in the post I wrote that you criticized as being all "straw man" and flawed. Thus, your 'point' doesn't stand unless you DEFEND it with SOMETHING. You didn't... and that's a very unimaginative, uninteresting, vacuous "strategy".

Isn't this what today's children refer to as "an epic fail"...? I think it also used to be compared with "a fart in the bathtub".... Cheers! :nana:

It doesn’t matter what is in a strawman or deflection — its factually or inaccuracy is pushed to paint a narrative that was not in the original post. Which is fine, seeing that you are responding with smilies and childish rhetoric I don’t expect anything more.

    Again, you prove my point.

In your Post #19 you decided that when those who defend Trump with an opinion, they do so using "whatever line they are parroting that week you can probably see why people looking for substantive good-faith discussion flee..." -- a perfect example of the very "childish rhetoric" you unctuously pretend to excoriate. :floating:

Return, if you will, to the actual POLL QUESTION itself, which merely asks those polled for their OPINION. Do we deduce from your subsequent condemnation that when one defends Trump (ostensibly about anything) with an opinion that their responses are nothing but "similies" and, of course, "straw men"...?

Children play this game frequently, using silly arguments that say, "YOURS stinks, but mine doesn't! So, THERE!" :nana: . How enlightening and, uh, erudite.... But, "I don't expect anything more"....

And the funniest part of all? I was one of only two people (so far) who voted, "I support Trump only because he's better than Biden." (No, I don't own a "MAGA" hat....)

It is objective fact. Not opinion. Feel free to open up a post that is openly critical of the president* and read. Making factual statements from observation isn’t being childish. Furthermore I never said “those who defend Trump”, I said “the same posters”. Please, if you want to continue your rant and strawman arguments try and utilize reading comprehension.

No, some have actual rebuttals, some just make trolling remarks which I identified in the post you have taken such an issue with. Maybe you identify with the latter?

    Except yours does.

Yet you jump in to defend people trolling for him... I would understand if I said “all republicans”, or most republicans”, or even “many republicans” but instead I said, “it is the same posters spamming” followed by a list of things I frequently see.

So unless you consider yourself as one of those spammers, why are you getting so... ... defensive?
    Funny... indeed...

My post was meant to show we have an issue with trolling, since we have more right wing views the trolling takes on a right wing bent but we also have some left wing trolling. That you have taken this as a personal attack and are responding the way your are shows more about what you identify with than I ever could have done.

And I voted for ‘I plan to vote third party’ since we are comparing notes — because I am tired of picking between red corruption and blue corruption. Picking the least worst is what has got us in this position because the silent generation and boomers have determined this is the best way to run a country resulting in decades of war, open corruption, and not having any true value or integrity. You pick your seven deadly sins. I could care less.
Make sure to show your age and sign off with a couple of smilies.

It's pointless to argue with you, but I'll actually agree with you on one key item:

Many of us, Left and Right, are sick to death of having to decide between "red corruption" and "blue corruption". That said, you infer that the unsolvable enigma of 'which-is-worse' is one that was somehow fabricated by Boomers...(?). What an asinine, sophomoric assumption -- again -- based on nothing but your wholly-subjective 'opinion'.

The "Situation Ethics" and the "Lesser-of-Two-Evils" paradigms were well-entrenched in American political culture for decades before the first Boomer was even born! And unless I'm wrong, your generation (which I assume to be 'Millennial' or something even worse-educated) will produce elected representatives, senators, and presidents that are just as corrupt, conniving, and tyrannical as any that ever existed before!

And good luck with "Third Parties". I went that way -- TWICE -- with Ross Perot, because I was brought to nausea by both Republicans and Democrats. See how much good wasting my vote -- TWICE -- actually did...?

But, you're welcome to think that 'your' generation will fix everything! My 'Boomer' generation thought that, too, but in truth, NOTHING in this country has gotten materially better for ordinary, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens since Ronald Reagan's last day in office....
