With a population of 333546000 in the USA. That works out at 40,000 gun deaths per annum.

Coronavirus deaths in comparison work out at 98,000,- true that is more than twice as many, but gun deaths happen every year. Considering the lengths gone to, to stop Corona, isn't it time a total ban on guns was taken to bring the USA in line with what we consider to be a civilized society.

This is what Democrats do. They create stats to back their arguments so they have numbers to post. The flaw is they are comparing a country like America to an island like the UK. You think the fact America has like 350,000,000 people has something to do with the numbers? Maybe the landmass. California alone is the 5 largest economy in the world.

I created a thread about this before but we do not have a gun violence problem. We have a BLACK gun violence problem. If you remove the statistics of black gun crime, our rate of violent crime is comparable to every other first world nation. The problem is that 13% of our population is black and they commit 52% of the murder in our country.

To contrast Britain and wales have 3% black population and while they still commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime, they aren’t a large enough portion of the population to significantly change the statistics.

Your numbers are wrong. But I would encourage you to take up this matter with the people who are doing the most killing. Half of the 14k murders are committed by a group that only makes up 12% of the population.

It would be tough to pull that off in heavily armed America. American Armed Fathers are as well armed as they want to be.

The number of hunters in Texas would be the largest standing army in the world all by itself. In addition, many American citizens don’t hunt, but still enjoy owning, shooting and competing with firearms.

Every country in the world knows that America is the most powerful country in the world. We have been able to fight the wars that we had to fight and still have more firepower at home than the standing armies of the rest of the world. Those countries of the world who choose to be against our way of life may hate us but won’t invade us because so many of us own firearms and know how to use them and constitute a force more numerous than their own armies.

No thanks. Brits have tried to talk us out of our guns before and that just wasn’t going to happen. The second amendment in our bill of rights is a direct result of being under British rule. The British have ruled most of the globe at one time or another from the muzzle of a firearm.
With freedom comes responsibility and if you remove suicide by firearm and gang related shootings from the equation, us yanks are doing pretty well for ourselves thank you very much. Your government doesn’t trust you with guns. Don’t read too far into that, you might miss the point all together.

Suicides account for the majority of gun related fatalities. Gang and drug related homicide by firearm pretty much occupy the next largest portion. So no, it's not actually a gun problem.
