So what's going on with these former "conservative" leaning pundits... Have they more lucrative dealings on 'the other side', or have they mysteriously morphed in their ideologies? I'm not quite sure what to think of them...

While at it... throw Fox News Channel (FNC) into the mix... (their lineup of pundits has definitely shifted in their "reporting bias" in my lifetime...)

I'm not interested in getting in to the specifics of their reasoning but in general terms, why would anyone have to stop being conservative to criticise Trump for something specific they believe he did wrong?

Maybe that implication, that there are two binary political sides and an individual has to unconditionally and blindly support one while unconditionally and blindly hating the other, is a better example of what is wrong with the US political system.

Well right off the bat Dirty Donald is not now, nor as he ever been CONSERVATIVE!!! So why anyone who believes themselves to be conservatives would ever follow or back him, has forever baffled me. How can anyone with multiple bankruptcies in their past be considered conservative???

The answer is easy. Conservatives are allowed to have differing opinions. They are not THE BORG like democrats are. They won't get lynched for disagreeing with the general consensus on certain matters that the party as a whole usually favors. Being able to have your OWN political opinions is a concept most of the left is not familiar with. I know lots of lefties I'm friends with that sometimes like one of Trump's policies or statements but would NEVER dare share that with their lefty friends (for fear of being hung in the street)

Coulter and FOX are establishmentarianist first, and only conservative so long as conservatism doesn't counter their establishmentarianism.

Who knows whats going on with Drudge... no one thats willing tell.

Drudge may be dead. An AI may be running his site for all we know.
Coulter just likes being a contrarian, but it could be something to do with Trump
appointing known leftwing biased “experts” like Fauci , and Dershowitz and a known radical leftist “former” Trump hater, as press secretary.

Fox news, radio demagogues and the rest of the GOP propaganda machine are a total disgrace. Hundreds of phony scandals and ridiculous conspiracy theories and no longer caring about innocent until proven guilty....all your crap has been investigated and discredited but of course never retracted. Poor America.

I don't know about Drudge; I heard he sold his site so he's not on the radar really, but it's disingenuous to say Coulter is a "former" conservative.

First, this isn't new. Coulter turned against Trump over two years ago primarily based on his lack of accomplishment on immigration. I assume that her original intent was to push him back on track on immigration, but if that was her goal, it backfired.

Secondly, this recent twitter tirade was about Trump's constant attacks on Jeff Sessions. On this, I agree with Coulter. Sessions was the only early Senate supporter of Trump and the only one in the senate who actually shared Trump's "Trumpism." And if Sessions was to win back his senate seat, he would, once again, be the ONLY supporter of Trumpism in the senate.

So attacking Sessions, and endorsing his opponent, who is a typical GOP establishment dirtbag, is just stupid. Trump is actually endorsing someone who will oppose him in the Senate to support the other establishment dickheads. It's a serious mistake and you can hardly blame Coulter for trying to stop it.

Coulter is anything but on the side of the GOP establishment.

Then she sure fooled the hell out of me. Years ago, anyway. Like I said before (edit- in another thread, apparently) , I don't pay much attention to her since she tried to argue that Fukushima radiation wasn't a cause for alarm and it might actually be good for us.

OK but I've no idea where you got the idea she was on the side of the establishment. She's opposing the establishment candidate in the Alabama senate race.

    Interesting comments, spirited discussion.

I will always find Coulter hilarious; Drudge was always more centrist.
